Hybrid set-up: 3 days in office 2 days’ work from home

What will you do: This role cuts across Fetola’s impact investment portfolio and SME financing operations, including the pre-investment, investment and post-investment process from: assessing investment opportunities, performing due diligence and risks analyses, successful positioning and execution of SME financing transactions, and coordination of post investment risk management processes. 

Job duties

  • Deal Origination: Identifying investment opportunities, assessing their viability, and contributing to the fund’s pipeline. 
  • Due Diligence: Conducting thorough research on potential investments, including analyzing financial statements, market trends, and risk factors. 
  • Transaction Execution: Collaborating with senior team members to structure and execute debt transactions. 
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Tracking existing investments, evaluating performance, and ensuring compliance with covenants. 
  • Relationship Management: Interacting with borrowers, investors, and other stakeholders. 


Requirements
  • University Degree (Business analytics, Economics, Finance, or similar) CFA, CA(SA) advantageous
  • Demonstrated numeric literacy, understanding & use of data analytics is essential.
  • Experience in the investment field.
  • An understanding of business finances.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Excellent spoken, written and interpersonal communication.
  • Confident, agile, ambitious, and forward – thinking.
  • Comfort with technology and innovation essential.
  • Multilingual – more than one African language (advantageous).
