The Opportunity

At Root, we’re on a mission to improve the lives of our customers by offering better insurance solutions. We challenge ourselves to think differently in order to reimagine insurance to make it smarter, more equitable, and a better experience for all.

We strive to “unbreak” the archaic insurance industry by using data and technology in innovative new ways. We believe we must be steadfast in our commitment to research, experimentation, and disciplined data-driven decision making in order to build products our customers love. Analytics sits at the center of our vision.

Our Agents Analytics team is responsible for expanding our footprint through Agent distribution. The team ensures our products are optimized for seamless agent integration while closely analyzing channel performance and profitability.

As an Analyst I you’ll work with a team of analysts to conduct exploratory research, measure experiments to unlock new insights, study the impacts of new features, and build crucial analytics tools that help us to measure our Agency business growth and profitability performance. You’ll work closely with leaders in Analytics, Product, and Business Development to support the aforementioned.

Root is a “work where it works best” company. This means we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US.

Salary: $87,000

How you will make an impact:

  • Support and conduct analysis of independent agents including profitability, risk, conversions, and commissions

  • Maintain a suite of business intelligence frameworks and dashboards to unlock actionable business insights

  • Analyze Agent and Producer performance to identify trends, anomalies, or other potentially actionable insights

  • Build strong relationships with cross functional partners to maintain alignment and awareness about Agents performance

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proficiency with SQL and BI software (Tableau, Mode, Power BI, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative field

  • 1+ years of work experience in analytics preferred

  • Superior problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically and innovatively

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Detail oriented

  • Roll-up-the sleeves work ethic and “do-what-it takes” attitude to efficiently execute and drive results in a fast-paced work environment
