Position Title: Network Planning Architect
$82,500 to $137,500 annually DOE

Job Summary
As the Network Planning Architect, you drive corporate-level strategic modeling and planning. This involves crafting and validating modeling tool rules, along with managing essential PostgresSQL datasets for the wider planning team. Your dynamic role extends to empowering network modeling in GIS and database tools to inform expansion decisions. Leveraging diverse data inputs, you strategically determine optimal network solutions, architecture, and investment plans, injecting excitement into the evolution of our network infrastructure.

- Create, edit, modify network architecture models related to commercial and residential fiber expansion to be utilized personally as well as by the larger Planning team.
- Determine optimal project architecture solutions/rule-sets while balancing the customer experience, cost, scalability, and reliability.
- Maintain Postgres data sources to support the modeling tools for broader team application.
- Guide partner organizations/suppliers to implement solutions successfully.
- Drive network and process advancement.
- Must be available to work regular business hours Pacific Standard Time.
- Must also be available to work on-call, evenings and weekends as needed.
- Hybrid work schedule highly preferred, however potentially open to a fully remote work schedule depending on the situation.
- Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalence required.
- An Associate degree or bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum five (5) plus years of related data modeling experience or similar experience.
- Demonstrated expert level proficiency in QGIS or ArcGIS.
- The qualified candidate will need to have a broad network understanding:
- Access networks
- FTTP/FTTN
- BBDLC network
- Ethernet Services
- Feeder/Distribution facilities
- Customer Prem solutions
- MDU/MTU solutions
- SONET
- Wireless
- Transport/Data dependencies
- Outside Plant (OSP) architectures consisting of underground, direct buried, aerial, and building applications.
- In-depth understanding of PON architectures to include centralized and distributed split, greenfield MDU/SFU, and inside wiring solutions.
- Network elements associated with FTTP, FTTN, xPON, BDLC, TDM, G.Hn, Broadband services, and Active Ethernet solutions
- Understanding of CPE solutions.
- Understanding of CAD-based drawing systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI.
- Experience with common analytics tools (i.e., Alteryx, Tableau).
- Database skills which including creation, scripting, and programming (i.e., Microsoft SQL), preferred.
- Experience utilizing Comsof is desirable.

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office setting.
