Senior Proposal Associate

BlackSky is looking for an Senior Proposal Associate. The successful candidate will support  BlackSky’s proposal management processes and proposal best practices across US Government, commercial, and international government opportunities to increase win rate and control B&P expenditures. This role reports to the Vice President, Strategic Capture and while we would like a candidate local to our Herndon, VA headquarters, we are open to remote candidates in the certain states.

Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of proposal volume development, including Technical, Management, Past Performance, Security, Basis of Estimate, Contracts, Executive Summary, Integrated Master Schedule and Plans, etc.
  • Assist in overseeing proposal schedules and deadlines, develops proposal artifacts and supporting artifacts such as proposal outline, compliance matrix, storyboard plan, and delivery plan.
  • Help shape and drive integration of win themes and discriminators into proposal deliverables, ensuring capture artifacts and customer values are incorporated for a winning proposal
  • Ensure 100% on-time delivery of compliant and compelling proposals on all assigned opportunities.
  • Understand and apply lessons learned to future activities.
  • Support proposal tool set development, Win Plans, and other Capture Excellence initiatives as required.
  • Staff and/or facilitate the conduct of effective and efficient proposal color (Shipley methodology) team reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Development team and Capture Managers throughout the proposal phase to develop, refine, and execute the win strategy.
  • Other responsibilities as needed. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of proposal experience on a variety of competitive opportunities including a relevant mix of program types, complexities, products, technologies, customers, and countries.
  • Previous experience working on multiple competitive proposals concurrently.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Confluence, and Sharepoint. Expert in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Past experience with supporting RFP/RFIs in the government contracting industry.
  • Previous space industry or artificial intelligence/AI experience. 
  • Strong collaboration skills: must work well with all levels of the organization, up to and including senior management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APMP certification or Shipley Training Course completion.
  • Previous sales operations or capture experience.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Self-starter; successful multi-tasker; highly organized.
  • Experience With Microsoft Project Software

The anticipated salary range for candidates in Seattle, WA is $80,000-100,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Seattle, WA.
