The Role

As a Principal, you will focus on delivering excellence to new and existing clients, achieving annual revenue targets, and implementing strategies for growth. In this strategic and client-facing position, you will develop and engage a team of Managers and Consultants with a strong focus on capability development and a high-performance work culture. You will drive the direction of multiple concurrent engagements and effectively manage the team in a matrix environment.

You will work closely with vertical industry leads, with the dss+ global practices, market and account leads, and play a key role to:

  • Serve as a proven, trusted advisor and thought partner at Executive level to generate, maintain and continually grow a diversified engagement pipeline within dss+ core industries
  • Manage and enhance relationships with clients, to position dss+ as a trusted partner
  • Work with other Principals / Directors and pursuit teams in developing new business leads & opportunities
  • Mentor / coach junior colleagues to support their development within the organization
  • Align and contribute to a core suite of offerings and assets, enabling replicability, efficiency of sales and delivery as well as building IP and brand
  • Proactively work with our teams to pursue new business opportunities in alignment with our global strategy
  • Innovate the way we support clients and execute projects, maximizing internal capabilities and strategic partnerships
  • Collaborate with leaders and contributors to define, prioritize, and execute projects to achieve consistent and impactful solutions
  • Maintain project deadlines, monitoring team progress and anticipating project risks, and driving outcomes


Who are you today?


You are most likely a Principal, Partner, or Director in a management consulting firm, or an Industry Executive with previous consulting experience. You will have broad experience of Operational Excellence across multiple industries and have an in-depth understanding of current industry challenges. You are excited by driving collaboration across teams, developing customized solutions to client challenges and partnering with them to deliver sustainable results. You are comfortable in the C-suite, engaging as a peer with executives, board members, and senior operational leaders.

Qualifications / Expertise

  • BS Engineering or equivalent plus an MBA from a leading university is preferred
  • 10+ years working with a leading management consulting firm, ideally combined with 5+ years working in line management in industries linked with dss+ core client base (e.g. mining & metals, oil and gas, petrochemical, utilities, consumer goods/food & beverage, transportation and/or heavy manufacturing sectors)
  • Proven experience in leading complex business / operations transformation programs characterized by both a high change management component and delivering rapid, step change sustainable results across multiple workstreams
  • Proven track record of generating and maintaining a consistent client base revenue
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English with Spanish a plus
  • Ability to travel extensively within the region, i.e. approximately 60 % of calendar time
  • Demonstrated relevant industry solutions/best practices in operational excellence and a good understanding of operational risk management & sustainability
