Your missions

Position Overview

The Aura and Global digital underwriting team supports the execution of RGA’s digital underwriting strategy globally and develops RGA’s underwriting decision platform (Aura Next), associated supporting tools and processes to optimize enterprise & client facing business capabilities for market competitiveness.

The VP Product Management & Strategy leads the product management function for Aura Next, works with stakeholders in various life & health insurance markets & the enterprise underwriting portfolio team to develop product roadmaps & priorities and acts as key liaison for product delivery & market engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Product Management : Leads Aura’s product management team, for developing long-term strategic roadmaps for the Aura Next Platform, with a focus on industry trends, growth opportunities, innovation, scalability, quality and usability. Must stay abreast of regulatory changes and how they impact our solutions as they relate to digital underwriting, product development, client impact and related services. Develops stakeholder relationships by consulting & partnering with them to identify unique, creative ways to leverage Aura Next to solve their problems and improve their business results; Works with the enterprise underwriting portfolio management team to understand enterprise vision, strategy and roadmap to effectively align and influence Aura Next solutions and services.
  • Sales : Assists global business develop teams during the sales process by acting as the product and digital underwriting SME for Aura Next. Ensures prospects understand the benefits and why they should partner with RGA for their needs. Leads the internal process to educate business development groups on product capabilities, roadmap, industry trends and competitors. Provides technical sales support for product demonstrations and RFPs.
  • Marketing : Represents RGA & Aura Next at industry events, contributes to articles and white papers promoting Aura Next solutions and expertise. Be clearly viewed as an industry expert in digital underwriting.
  • Business Consulting & Support: Provides consultative support to internal stakeholders, clients, partners and delivery teams as necessary to facilitate business solution design on how best to utilize Aura Next capabilities to meet their business objectives. Actively engages with clients and engagement managers to align product roadmap with emerging business needs and market regulations.
  • People management : Leads, manages, and directs the activities of the department in all aspects of supervisory duties, including, developing effective people strategies, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports. Fosters a positive and engaged work environment. Mentors’ functional managers and associates. Contributes actively to and supports the leadership team in developing plans, coordinating activities and in assuring all departments are aware of key activities of the product management department. Ensures work area goals contribute to accomplishing Global underwriting portfolio and Aura Next objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience
  • 5 + years prior product management experience
  • 10+ years prior experience with automated underwriting engines
  • 10+ years life and health insurance and/or underwriting experience
  • 7+ years management experience

Preferred:

  • BS/BA Science or Business
  • ACS, ALU, FLMI, FALU, or CLU accreditation or progress towards accreditation
  • 15+ years life and health insurance and underwriting experience
  • 10+ years management experience

The general pay range for this position is $171,220 - $254,960 per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles, and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
