Our Claims organization is seeking a VP of Claims Finance, Data Analytics, and Insights to join our growing team in a remote, hybrid work arrangement in MA or open to relocation to MA.

This is a full-time exempt role.

SUMMARY:

As a member of the Claims Senior Leadership team and direct report to the Chief Claims Officer, the VP of Claims Finance, Data Analytics, and Insight influences the strategy and day to day operations of a large and critically important component of the company.

She/He will oversee annual financial planning, staffing analysis, budgeting, and approvals for a $182M operation. Provides data and insight to corporate Finance and LOB financial officer’s critical to making well informed financial judgements and decisions impacting the entire organization. Work closely with Corporate Actuaries and LOB Actuaries to help them make significant reserving decision that influence the performance of the company.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Partner with defined business management and leadership on operational and strategic issues as they arise.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation and revenue/expense analysis.
  • Assist in facilitating the integration of competitive intelligence to support business strategies.
  • Provide timely, accurate executive reports to assist Finance and business leaders in assessing current and future business performance, trends and forecasts.
  • Responsible for providing executive reporting and analysis that is consistent with defined standards and processes. Assess and develop adhoc reporting as needed.
  • Oversee and direct annual plan and budget preparation. Monitors progress and presents financial metrics and impact to business unit leader and senior management.
  • Proactively monitor and review margin improvement opportunities with business leaders.
  • Collaborate with other Finance and business leaders to define and drive enterprise initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of presentations to various audiences, including rating agencies, Wall Street, Board of Directors and senior management.
  • Recommend necessary resource allocation changes to address business issues or opportunities.
  • Actively participate in defining reporting standards that are leveraged for all business units.
  • Acts as a change agent and effectively focuses the resources during times of transition and change.
  • Responsible for managing and driving all aspects of talent management for team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred. Degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • 15+ years of financial analysis practices and principles with 10 plus years of leadership experience;
  • 8+ years of P&C Insurance experience preferred.
  • Develops working relationships and interacts effectively with all necessary levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and related analytical tools
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to make effective presentations to large and small groups at all levels in the organization.
  • Responsible for taking independent action, developing strategies, and making quick decisions in a proactive and competent manner.
  • Business issue identification, analysis and communication.
  • Sound judgment and ability to deal with difficult and stressful situations.
  • Ability to concisely present and communicate complex financial and business issues to business unit leaders and senior management.
