Job description

Your missions

We are seeking a Credit Manager to join our client's head office in Brussel. Our client is an innovative chemical compay and supplier for the packaging industry. The role of a credit manager is crucial within the organization and will be responsible for the credit evaluations and collection management of the accounts receivable exposures worldwide. You will be part of the Finance team based in Brussel.

Are you the international, ambitious credit manager we are looking for?

Your responsibilities as a credit manager:

You will be responsible to manage the accounts receivable exposure of the company globally
You monitor and manage credit risk by conducting credit analysis, assessing customer creditworthiness, establishing credit limits, and implementing credit control measures with the support of the Regional teams
You will coach a small team of collectors to receive customer payments on time
You will implement best practices and train the commercial teams to interact with customers to negotiate payment terms and manage credit risk
You will interact with all levels in the organization to resolve complex customer payment issues
You will follow up on recovery processes together with legal and/or external agencies when needed
You will prepare and analyze AR & Credit reporting, providing regular updates to senior management on key performance indicators, process improvements, and areas of concern
You show interest to a broader financial spectrum outside credit management and have a good understanding of working capital and cash flow management
You will support the treasury and finance team on various ad hoc tasks and challenges

Requirements

For this challenging task we are looking for an experienced candidate, with an engaging personality and a proactive, highly self-confident personality, who is analytical, curious, future and result-oriented and has excellent intercultural skills as well as the desire to continually improve/achieve.

Other key competences:

Bachelor or Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance
Several years (senior level) of relevant experience in an international credit management environment
Experience on how to manage and use credit insurance / credit risk and trade finance instruments (e.g. letters of credit) and factoring
You enjoy to interact with others via multiple communication tools
Fluent in English. Any other language is of advantage
Relevant Accounting and ERP experience , operational systems and Microsoft
