Job Title:                    Accounting Manager, Revenue (Remote)

About the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated, financially minded, and metrics-driven Accounting Manager, Revenue to join our Finance team reporting into our Head of Financial Operations.  The person will be responsible for owning and managing all aspects of revenue recognition and reporting. As the Revenue Manager, you will be responsible for managing the month-end close revenue reporting process, ensuring accurate and complete revenue recognition, and driving the documentation and application of technical accounting under ASC 606.

This Is What You’ll Do:

  • Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, which includes performing monthly close activities, ensuring accurate results, and having a thorough understanding of business drivers.
  • Create and maintain revenue-related accounting policies and memos to formally document the company’s policies on revenue recognition.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to various stakeholders across the company to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and disclosure in the company’s financial statements.
  • Support the Finance team and the business with respect to revenue recognition, including identifying and addressing the implications on revenue recognition (e.g., gross versus net presentation).
  • Liaise with non-Finance teams (e.g., Sales, Product, Tech) to understand the entire revenue cycle, implement process improvements, and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Understand and enhance the connections between Salesforce, product platforms, and NetSuite to ensure revenue is being booked completely and accurately in the general ledger.
  • Prepare 10-Q and 10-K footnotes and disclosures to be included in the company’s audited financial statements filed with the SEC.
  • Support the audit process and proactively work with both internal and external auditors to provide supporting documentation on our revenue results and policies.
  • Prepare periodic and ad hoc reporting, presentations, and research and present findings to the business and/or Management with transparency into the company’s revenue.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and metrics to regularly assess revenue trends and performance.

This Is What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of revenue recognition experience, including ASC 606 application.
  • Prior experience with SEC reporting (e.g., 10-Qs and 10-Ks) is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite is a plus.
  • Prior experience with technology or cloud-based service companies is a plus.
  • Team-oriented and focused on fostering transparent communication across the team. 
  • Strong operational and control mindset but knows how to overlay good business sense and deliver solutions in a practical manner. 
  • Strong business, financial, and change management acumen.
  • Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.

The salary for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible to participate in the Annual Incentive Plan.  A full range of benefits including but not limited to medical, financial, unlimited sick time, 22 days’ vacation annually (for FT workers; prorated 1st year of employment), parental leave and other benefits are also provided.
