Job Purpose and Overview

Senior DevOps Engineers are in charge of implementing and analyzing complex systems for development, which includes planning, development, testing, documenting, and deployment processes for both development and production environments.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask on separate projects are important, and their main responsibilities often focus on systems design, automation, and maintenance. They also develop efficient budgets, troubleshoot problems, manage risks, and schedule deadlines for technical deliveries.

What You Will Do
  • Lead a team of Atlassian administrators and engineers in configuring, customizing, and administering JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective solutions using the Atlassian toolset.
  • Manage and optimize user permissions, groups, and access controls across Atlassian applications to ensure security and compliance.
  • Design and implement complex workflows, issue types, fields, and screens in JIRA to support various teams and projects.
  • Oversee the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of Atlassian products and plugins, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate third-party Atlassian apps to enhance functionality and meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain Groovy scripts using ScriptRunner for automation, customization, and workflow enhancements.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members on Atlassian toolset usage, best practices, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security, and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Stay current with Atlassian product updates, industry trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Candidate should also have expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including compute, storage,  databases, serverless technologies, and networking services.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub CI/CD, or CircleCI would be desired.
What We Would Like to See
  • Minimum of  8+ years of experience as an Atlassian Administrator, with proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Extensive expertise in configuring, customizing, and administering JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo in large-scale environments.
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure as code (IaC) and cloud-native services.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub CI/CD, or CircleCI.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
  • Strong knowledge of Atlassian toolset architecture, administration, and configuration best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and integrating third-party Atlassian apps, plugins, and add-ons.
  • Proficiency in Groovy scripting and hands-on experience with ScriptRunner for JIRA and Confluence.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Atlassian certifications (e.g., JIRA Administrator, Confluence Administrator, Atlassian Certified Professional) are a plus.

  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage own time efficiently, including meeting target dates and not overlooking any tasks or issues that need to be addressed.
  • Be accountable, take ownership, and have strong customer focus.
