Position Title:    Millwright Apprentice
Reports to:    Service Manager, Edmonton 
Position type:    Permanent, Full-time
Location:    Edmonton

OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible to disassemble, clean, inspect and overhaul a wide variety of rotating equipment specializing in centrifugal end suction, multistage and submersible pumps. You will be required to complete detailed inspection forms and provide recommendations for the repair work scope required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Ensure all service work is preformed professionally, in a timely & efficient manner to guarantee customer satisfaction.
•    Work in an organized and controlled manner with a team or independently to carry out in-house and onsite pump repairs.
•    Conduct in-house repairs on a wide variety of customer supplied rotating equipment.
•    Complete detailed inspection findings on inspection forms and recommendations for repair work required.
•    Initiate development and use of procedures and safe work practices
•    Complete detailed field service inspection reports and start-ups forms. 
•    Conduct precision measuring of critical tolerances and non-destructive electrical testing on electric motors.
•    Comply with all safety measures outlined by the company for all work processes.
•    Develop and maintain excellent communication skills both externally with customers and internally with colleagues.
•    Work closely with the Service Manager & Shop Supervisor to ensure accurate and profitable quotations and correct repair work scope required.
•    Ensure continuous improvement of technical knowledge, both related to pump theory and product development. Attend and participate in promotional events and training seminars as required.
•    Support and resolve customer issues by responding to their requests for any services they may require.  

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Millwright Apprentice 433A Enrollment with College of Trades 
•    1-2 years’ experience as a mechanical tradesperson.
•    Strong Mechanical competence with centrifugal pumps and rotating equipment
•    Machining and/ or electrical background knowledge is an asset
•    Computer literate, Highly organized, Knowledge of Microsoft applications- outlook, word doc. excel
•    Excellent communication skills and time management


TRAVEL: 
Some travel to customer sites required, under the Supervision of Certified Technicians
