The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking an Analyst, DBA/Integration to working closely with application teams, operations teams and business owners to establish, maintain, and provide support for the core database services and integration tools in place within the IJM technology stack. This includes ODS, built on Azure/SQL, Boomi, and CDATA integration tools, as well as ongoing engagement with system/application owners for source systems and related integration needs.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Global Director, Salesforce and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation

  • Provide guidance on integration solutions within IJM toolkit to meet new requests.

  • Provide thought leadership on DBA and Integration concepts to Enterprise Architecture council.

  • Create documentation for all new enhancements for proper end-user consumption.

Networking & Partnership

  • Maintain strong working relationships with integrated/source system support teams and key stakeholders.

  • Provide guidance to vendor support teams in area of responsibility for project and regular request processing work items.

  • Partner closely with GTS Operations and Cybersecurity team to ensure deployment and maintenance activities align to GTS established standards.

Policies and Procedures

  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation of data mappings, integration flows and system connections in collaboration with source system owners.

  • Creation of appropriate end user training or knowledge articles for changes/enhancements made, within context of project or support processes.

  • Provide best-practice leadership on the creation, implementation, and ongoing execution of data governance and stewardship activities.

Communication

  • Active engagement in regular GTS and key business partner cadences.

  • Regular updates to project and enhancement team rhythms, including scrum standups, project updates aligned to area of responsibility, communication of task completion, and regular stakeholder updates to create clear and transparent awareness of work being taken in and executed.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management

  • Creation and maintenance of data features within core system to support the ongoing use and enhancement of requested reporting capabilities from related system (ex. ODS Table creation to support Tableau reporting).

  • Execution of ongoing data governance and stewardship activities as part of the maintenance of technical infrastructure of the data and integration tools, and support and guidance to end-user data customers in the appropriate use of the systems in place.

General Tasks

  • Participate in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS degree preferred, and 3+ years of related DBA and/or Integration work experience.

  • 5+ years of professional work experience.

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture standards, frameworks, and industry best practices.

  • Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies including Web services, SOAP, JSON, XML Schema Definition (XSD), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Business process automation and orchestration tools and software, with preference for Boomi and/or CDATA experience.

  • Experience working with API’s from commercial software applications, with preference for experience with Salesforce and Workday.

  • In-depth knowledge of Azure SQL Server database administration, including database design, installation, configuration, and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud platform data services.

  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

  • Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as database mirroring, log shipping, and clustering.

  • Experience with ETL standards and processes, data visualization, SAAS integration techniques, familiarity with Tableau, PowerBI and Microsoft Fabric beneficial.

  • Knowledge of database security best practices and the ability to implement and enforce security measures.
