Job description

The time is NOW.

Join the world’s largest pure play sustainability consultancy and make a strong contribution to meeting the world’s climate change goals. We are excited to bring to market this fantastic opportunity for a Principal Consultant, a leading role in ERM’s highly successful and growing Capital Project Delivery division.

This role sits in our Onshore Renewables & Infrastructure team; however you’ll also work closely with other teams on a variety of innovative projects in the areas of renewable energy (solar, onshore and offshore wind, hydrogen, battery storage and energy networks), decarbonisation (hydrogen, CCUS, transport and technology) corporate sustainability, climate change and nature, where ERM is supporting clients to deliver the low carbon energy transition and nature-based solutions. Many of our projects, like our own Dolphyn Hydrogen concept and Equinor’s H2H Saltend Blue Hydrogen project, for which we recently secured planning permission with no objections, are market-leading.

Your key focus will be the provision of programme and project management, EIA, consenting and permitting support to our existing and future client base. The role will include a high level of client relationship management and growth, project management and coordination with technically-focused employees in the CPD Team to deliver reports and studies to clients. The role requires detailed interaction with key clients on all aspects of programme and project delivery including technical outputs, schedule, risk and budget. In addition, management of external subcontractors and associates contributing to project delivery is an integral element of the position.

Working seamlessly with ERM partners, you’ll have overall responsibility for leading and managing projects and deliverables, ensuring that they are of high quality, on time, within budget, and to the required ERM and client specifications. You will lead and guide consultants and senior consultants in your team, including line management, and contribute to maximising employee retention and new employee recruitment.

You will play a key role in the wider business development and marketing strategy of the company to both internal and external clients, including identifying and contacting potential clients for new business.
