As a Battery Sales Manager you must be passionate about technology, creative in approaching sales and marketing, and skilled in developing and implementing sales strategies. We are seeking an experienced Battery Sales Manager to join our team to ensure the Forge Nano prototype Li-ion cell production line is fully booked for years to come. As the Battery Sales Manager you will be a key player in driving our battery sales efforts. Your role will involve leveraging your experience in selling prototype batteries, developing commercial and government proposals, managing projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and creatively driving sales strategies to meet and exceed our targets.
Skills and Responsibilities
The Battery Sales Manager will be responsible for tasks and skills such as (non-exhaustive):
Prototype Battery Sales:
- Utilize your expertise/network in battery sales to identify and target potential customers and industries and develop/maintain relationships with existing and potential clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets by effectively communicating the value of our battery technology.
- Compile and present crisp presentations at conferences and gatherings and be able to support both technical and business questions relating to Li-ion batteries
Proposal Submission and Support:
- Manage the process of applying for government grants/incentives and commercial proposals related to battery technology.
- Collaborate with government agencies and commercial stakeholders to secure funding for research and development projects.
- Ensure compliance with proposal requirements and reporting.
Small Business Environment:
- Thrive in a small business setting, taking on a hands-on role that includes wearing multiple hats to support our growth and success.
- Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to the company's overall goals and objectives.
Project Management:
- Lead and coordinate projects related to battery sales and deployment, ensuring timely and successful project completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project objectives with customer requirements.
Contract Negotiations:
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Ensure favorable terms and conditions while safeguarding the company's interests.
Profit and Loss Analysis:
- Analyze and manage the profit and loss of battery sales projects, making data-driven decisions to maximize profitability.
- Implement cost-effective strategies to enhance margins.
Creative Thinking and Collaboration:
- Bring innovative and creative solutions to sales challenges and customer needs.
- Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to develop integrated solutions.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in selling prototype batteries or similar technical products.
- Must have established network in the Li-ion battery market
- Must have experience selling Li-ion cells and understand how cells work from the inside-out, including cathode and anode chemistries and the trade-offs of various performance parameters of Li-ion cells
- Experience in writing proposals
- Experience supporting government grants and incentives for research and development.
- Prior experience working in a small business or startup environment.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency in contract negotiations.
- Familiarity in application requirements such as those of aerospace, defense, specialty vehicles, or other niche Li-ion market
- Creative thinker with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment
Work will predominately be in an office or work-from-home environment. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and in the plant, a hard hat. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. Forge Nano follows all recommended COVID-19 safety protocols and accepted candidates must be willing to adhere to these policies.

Compensation/Benefits
β’$110,000-130,000 depending on experience
