Position Summary:

As the Director of ESG at Platform.sh, you will champion initiatives that advance sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical governance. This critical role combines a deep appreciation of ESG principles with a strategic and business-focused approach to seamlessly integrate these principles throughout our operations. You will play a key role in enhancing our environmental sustainability efforts and ensuring that our operations maintain the highest standards of social responsibility and corporate governance. Collaborating closely with all departments, you will help align our business practices with our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen, weaving ESG principles into the fabric of our culture and business strategy. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in shaping how Platform.sh meets the future, sustainably and ethically.

What to expect:
  • Develop and execute long-term ESG strategies with the support of our dedicated committee.
  • Drive carbon compensation initiatives, exploring public financing and grants for impactful results.
  • Lead efforts to reduce carbon emissions, integrating sustainability into our products and marketing.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to embed eco-friendly features and amplify our sustainability message.
  • Oversee annual ESG reporting, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations like CSRD.
  • Conduct ESG risk assessments, enhancing practices to meet legal and ethical requirements.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, fostering a socially responsible workplace.
  • Represent Platform.sh at events, conferences, and within our communities, forging partnerships with like-minded organizations and engaging with external auditors to validate our achievements.
  • Collaborate with the People team on wellness and community engagement projects, promoting a culture of sustainability and well-being.
What you bring:
  • Proven experience in ESG leadership with a background in environmental science, sustainable development, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of climate change impacts and corporate sustainability practices within the tech industry, including experience with social responsibility programs.
  • Certification or formal study in climate research; familiarity with ESG reporting standards, CSRD report is advantageous. 
  • Effective in cross-functional collaboration and capable of influencing and aligning diverse stakeholder groups. 
  • Proven project management and strategic planning skills within corporate sustainability; adept at clarifying complex issues. 
  • Proficiency in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • An empathetic and inclusive approach, ensures diverse perspectives are considered. 
  • Continuous learner, particularly regarding public sector regulations, cloud technology, and environmental impact in the French and EU contexts.
  • Excellent networking skills, with a track record of fostering meaningful relationships across various sectors.
Bonus Points For:
  • Technical background in cloud computing, software development, or information technology.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance standards, and certification processes relevant to the tech industry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis for measuring ESG performance.
  • Experience delivering keynotes in the field.
