Mainframe Automation Architect – BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline

Our client, a global software company, is looking to hire a Mainframe Automation Architect – BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline to support a 12–16-month conversion project helping a customer move from legacy systems and IBM Endevor to BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline as part of a mainframe-inclusive CI/CD toolchain. The consultant will be working as part of the Professional Services team.

The consultant will be working with a full project team of a PM, Technical Architect, Developers, etc. The first part of the project will be heavy architecture, where they will be analyzing the customer’s environment. The team is looking to understand how the customer uses Endevor, is it fully functional, is it working? This is how the team will then scope the conversion to BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline. Out of this analysis, comes a solution design document that the consultant will be responsible for creating.

The consultant will also be planning and designing the architecture (4-6 weeks), working on product configuration, customizing the solution to meet customer’s current and future requirements, leading the team in effective administration of Code Pipeline, demonstrating using maintenance functions, as well as troubleshooting any problems. The consultant will also be responsible for them training the customer’s development teams on how to build, test, and deploy mainframe code quickly and safely.

Required Skills

• 10(+) years of experience in a mainframe technical role implementing and delivering mainframe solutions in the DevX workspace
• 5(+) years as an administrator in Mainframe Source Code Management, specifically proficiency in tools like BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline (formerly known as BMC Compuware ISPW) and the necessity of knowledge in competitor products due to migration tasks
• Excellent knowledge of z/OS structure and logic including knowledge of z/OS operating system internals
• Experience leading and architecting a conversion from IBM Endevor to BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline
• Strong experience with BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline design and architecture as well as Code Pipeline development – including installation, configuration, customization, and integration into the mainframe development lifecycle
• Strong understanding of best practices and proven expertise for a successful, low-risk migration to BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline
• Experience project planning and execution, from sizing and scoping to user training
• Strong understanding of Agile
• Strong communication skills
