Title: Client Relationship Specialist – East

Reports To: Manager, Client Experience

Department: Group

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Location: Kitchener-Waterloo Area, and Hamilton

Work Arrangements: You will work from your home office 100% of the time. You may be required to be in-person at our office in Waterloo, ON or another assigned location within the Waterloo Region, on an as needed basis. Sales related roles may be required to travel based on the assignment.

The Opportunity: Equitable is looking to hire a Client Relationship Specialist to support the Eastern region! This is a great opportunity for someone with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships to step in and make a significant contribution to the team. In this role you'll use your outstanding customer service and communication skills to manage the installation of new business and maintain our relationships with plan administrators.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage installation of new business by working with policyholders, advisors and head office staff
  • Provide support to our Group Account Executives
  • Process complex amendments and specialized employee notices
  • Co-ordinate and maintain high levels of policyholder service which includes:
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with group plan administrators
  • Coordinating and hosting benefit installation meetings with clients and/or advisors either in person or virtual connection.
  • Delivering employee benefit presentations
  • Responding to inquiries from policyholders, certificate holders, advisors and head office staff on complex administrative or escalated claim situations
  • Able to work under tight deadlines
  • Participate in finalist presentations

What you will bring:

  • 3+ years of prior experience with group, life and health products is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Group Product knowledge is essential
  • Knowledge of government plans as they integrate with group plans
  • Post-secondary education and training in a related field
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Sound knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Bilingual skills (French/English) are ran asset
