Brainrider is looking for experienced SEO Specialist interested in joining our client embedded teams in the tech and e-commerce industry. You will identify, execute, and manage local and traditional search engine optimization tactics to drive organic growth to our client’s owned business websites.

You will identify target keyword topics, and provide on-page and off-page recommendations for web content, site architecture, and technical SEO best practices. You will also act as a search optimization evangelist with internal and external stakeholders to provide recommendations for internal programs and ensure consistent application of best practices.

You strike an appropriate balance between SEO tactics, big-picture brand, and editorial storytelling. You have a demonstrated history of providing SEO recommendations and executing successful SEO initiatives either in-house or as part of an agency.

What You'll Do

  • Support SEO/content optimization across all channels in collaboration with marketing, creative, and engineering teams. This includes writing metadata, reviewing copy, managing image optimization, and testing web pages for SEO.
  • Conducts audits and leads optimization of existing content to improve natural search ranking.
  • Research the topics the team websites should rank for and surfacing where they don’t rank today, and provide insight into what they can do to attain and improve rankings.
  • Recommend how to link pages to each other to increase the pathways within the website and increase visibility.
  • Collaborate with content/editorial team to ensure SEO alignment.
  • Partner with web developers to conduct SEO QA before pages launch.
  • Partner with digital analytics team to track and analyze traffic and user behaviour on an ongoing basis to measure success.
  • Analyze performance ranking data and crawl logs to provide recommendations to team members across technical and non-technical disciplines.
  • Provide data on the latest topics people are searching and the questions they are asking to inform content creation across web surfaces.
  • Perform keyword research, technical audits, content audits, and competitor analysis to discover new SEO opportunities.
  • Determine where content should live on a page based on other high-performing pages across web on similar topics.
  • Optimize key on-page elements throughout the site, including navigation, internal links, semantic markup, crawling/indexing directives, title tags, meta descriptions, H1 headers, and more.
  • Increase the visibility and knowledge of SEO within the global organization, including preparing and presenting SEO best practices and helping define SEO as a KPI for all relevant teams.
  • Analyze, track, and report on overall natural search performance and initiatives.
  • Review web pages before launch to ensure headers are optimally marked up, alt text is present, and URL structures are optimized.
  • Develop and implement SEO best practices including content structure, tags, data cataloging, analytics, and reports.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years working as an SEO Specialist or similar role that included managing and executing SEO best practices
  • Strong understanding of SEO factors and best practices
  • Experience executing SEO strategies and analyzing them for effectiveness using search tools (Google Search Console, BrightEdge, etc.)
  • Experience providing reports detailing SEO performance
  • Fundamental understanding of international SEO
  • Functional understanding of HTML
  • Deep understanding of organic search, SEO trends and best practices, as well as the main pitfalls and obstacles that can hinder SEO efforts
  • Expertise in on-page, off-page, and technical SEO
  • Understanding of digital marketing and content development; ability to strike a balance between SEO tactics and brand voice/editorial nuance
  • Dedication to a high-level operational execution; track record of producing excellent results
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented, cross-functional work environment. Flexibility to work in a decentralized structure.
