DB Architect

Philips RI R&D is developing Philips Image Management solution which can serve different steps in the radiology workflow. Philips Image Management solution provides a complete and scalable local and wide area Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) solutions for hospital and related institutions/sites, which will archive, distribute, retrieve, and display images and data from hospital modalities and information systems 

As the DB Architect you’ll play a major role in developing the back-bone DB key element in the PACS architecture. 

Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Responsible for the overall data layer and database strategy for Vue PACS 
  • Responsible for the tactical execution of plans for the database and data layers 
  • Responsible for the maintenance and development of the data layer of Vue PACS for the entire install base of customers 

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:  

  • Extensive production expertise in the Oracle database eco-system 
  • Extensive hands on expertise in managing triple digit terabyte scale databases 
  • Deep expertise in sharding, partitioning and other relevant horizontal scaling techniques 
  • Extensive hands on experience in data modeling, performance tuning, indexing  etc 
  • 10+ years of experience with Oracle database eco-system 
  • 5+ years experience in developing and contributing to enterprise scale database systems. 
  • Extensive hand on experience in Pro*C - advantage 
  • System aspect background/experience in developing enterprise solutions - advantage 
  • Experience in international organization/ medical devices background – advantage 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with English fluency 
  • Team player
