Informational Technology Intern Training Program

Blackmore Partners is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a passion for technology and creative problem-solving to join our IT internship training program. This is an unpaid, remote position that requires a 3- or 6-month commitment of 30-40 hours per week.


As an IT intern, you will gain hands-on experience in internal support and learn new software platforms. You will work closely with other interns to provide fast and efficient technical support for other teams in our firm. Your responsibilities will include studying and reading documentation on CRM systems used for current projects, brainstorming ways to make processes less tedious and stressful for other team members, and developing new development tools, technical stacks, and quality assurance procedures. You will also have plenty of opportunities to design and implement new or modified software products for ongoing business projects. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about technology and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.


This is a 3 or 6-month unpaid internship eligible for college credit with university approval.


Responsibilities:

  • Set up meetings and take notes during client meetings, ensuring accurate documentation of meeting minutes and action items
  • Organize and Lead the organization of the company's virtual conferences, ensuring seamless technical support and smooth execution by working with our team and executives to provide technical support as needed
  • Engage in collaborative efforts across various company departments by offering suggestions and providing IT assistance
  • Participate in group and individual research to aid system improvements, staying up-to-date with new technologies and trends in various IT industries
  • Present weekly progress reports on tasks performed to company meetings
  • Conduct research, design, implement, and develop software systems to meet the company's needs and objectives
  • Identify areas for modification and improvement in the existing infrastructure and subsequently develop those modifications to enhance system performance
  • Perform system cleanup to ensure efficient and optimized performance
  • Create and maintain new users and groups in Microsoft Active Directory to ensure access controls are up-to-date
  • Oversee the company's website pages, plug-ins to ensure they are up-to-date and functioning correctly
  • Manage systems like Infusionsoft, Appointmentcore, Microsoft 365 applications to ensure efficient system performance
  • Learn new development tools and technical stacks through hands-on development projects to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Ensure the company's data storage is safe, secure, and accessible to authorized personnel only
  • Review the company's backup documents to ensure data is backed up and recoverable in case of data loss and create process documents
  • Full-time 6-month Information Technology Interns who excel in their role may earn the opportunity to work closely with the Human Resources Director and Partner as an assistant or team lead, contributing to daily operations and taking on key responsibilities as needed
  • Improve cybersecurity in all tasks performed to ensure data protection and confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, business information systems or a related field preferred
  • Strong object-oriented design skills with experience in software development methodologies
  • Must have a stable computer/laptop, Wi-Fi, and working webcam
  • Proficiency in Office 365 Application Suite with experience in Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange Online
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels with team members and supervisors, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Works well independently and in a small team setting and has high attention to details with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Passionate about the information technology / computer science field, with a desire to learn and grow in the industry
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills, with experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Familiarity with Power Apps and Power Automation, with experience in building custom workflows and automating tasks (PLUS)
  • Knowledge of HTML (PLUS)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts and experience in working with cybersecurity scenarios (PLUS)
