The Actuarial Consultant will work closely with a supervising Consulting Actuary and our other practice areas such as Product Design and State Filings.  In addition, it is expected that the Actuarial Consultant will communicate and work directly with clients. The Actuarial Consultant will be responsible for meeting a billing target. This position does not involve travel.  The Actuarial Consultant will be eligible to participate in Perr&Knight’s actuarial education program as they pursue their actuarial credentials.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Performing reserve reviews
  • Reviewing data received from clients for reasonability
  • Preparing supporting exhibits for rate/rule filings, including preparing explanatory language
  • Preparing rate indications and rating factor analyses
  • Organizing/presenting competitive information in a meaningful format 
  • Performing tech reviews of formulas/data entry
  • Assisting in preparation of polished, professional, clear reports to present results/information

  • What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • At least 2 years of experience working as an actuary in the Property/Casualty industry
  • At least 2 Actuarial Exams
  • General understanding standard actuarial terms such as loss ratio, ultimate losses, written premium, earned premium, on-level earned premium, frequency, severity, loss cost, etc.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Ability to think creatively/imaginatively
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform most tasks with minimal/moderate supervision
  • Ability to think creatively/imaginatively and complete tasks with few structural/technical/cosmetic errors
