Job description

  • Location: Remote 
  • Territory: US preferred 
  • Reporting to: Director of Brand & Creative 

 

Role Summary: 

This role will be charged with the management and creation of high-quality written materials for the international audience served by the marketing department at Daon. This includes, but is not limited to: emails, social posts, website content, print and digital advertising, video scripts, business collateral, and thought leadership content like articles, eBooks, whitepapers, and reports. The role will be expected to deliver content, both scheduled and as needed, on a weekly basis with minimal direction, work with subject matter experts, frequently at the executive level, for content approvals, and ensure that the overall copy produced by the marketing department is as close as possible to error-free. 

 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Creative Writing – Develop engaging content from draft to final publication for thought leadership, social posts, digital marketing, webpages, advertising, etc. 
  • Freelance Writing Coordination – Work with various freelance writers to develop thought leadership content. 
  • Quality Assurance Editing – Review and correct all outgoing marketing content for spelling, grammar, and structure. 
  • Research – Research topics for thought leadership content to ensure accurate information and provide quality references. 
  • Content Placement – Work within various user interfaces to load content to websites, social platforms, and digital marketing systems. 
  • Writing Project Management – Manage the development of multiple simultaneous projects to ensure quality and that deadlines are met. 
  • Content Management – Work with marketing peers and third-party consultants to plan, schedule, and manage a thought leadership calendar. 

 

Qualifications/Skills & Experience 

 

Required 

  • 3-5 years of relevant writing for marketing in a B2B space  
  • Bachelor’s or technical degree in creative writing or similar  
  • Strong understanding of English grammar and writing styles (we use the MLA handbook)  
  • Strong understanding of how to properly write for various marketing mediums  
  • Ability to concept and create with minimal direction  
  • Ability to quickly learn and simplify technical concepts 
  • Understanding of marketing principles as they relate to writing 
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to effectively communicate their vision and guide understanding while readily integrating external input 
  • General understanding of digital marketing tools, including CRM and CMS 
  • A passionate drive to collaborate with coworkers and consultants to create truly compelling written content 

 

Great to have 

  • Experience writing for international audiences  
  • Experience writing for software marketing  
  • Experience writing press releases 
  • General understanding of AI tools to assist in writing  
  • Spanish language capabilities are considered a plus
