Join us in this pivotal Team Lead role, leading our skilled Hydrology team to further growth and success! As a Principal Consultant you’ll be a subject matter expert on a range of Onshore Renewables & Infrastructure projects, both in the UK and Internationally;

  • Providing technical leadership for flood risk and hydrology studies including Environmental Statement chapters, Flood Risk Assessments and Outline Surface Water Management Plans within the renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure sectors
  • Conducting quality assurance and independent technical reviews
  • Supporting and facilitating business development through inputs into project tenders, including scoping schedules of works and completing preliminary baseline assessments of potential projects
  • Leading the growth of the hydrology team by developing the technical capabilities and careers of its members
  • Mentoring through technical advice, review of technical documents and professional development support
  • Resource management for team members

About you

  • Extensive experience working within hydrology, flood risk management, EIA or renewable energy
  • A proven track record in the delivery of Environmental Statement chapters, Flood Risk Assessments and Outline Surface Water Management Strategies
  • Demonstrable project experience in the application of one or more of hydraulic modelling software packages (e.g., Flood Modeller, TUFLOW), UK hydrological techniques (e.g., ReFH2, FEH and surface water drainage design tools (e.g., InfoDrainage and MicroDrainage)
  • Commercial experience including preparing schedule and scope of works for tenders
  • A relevant degree (including but not limited to Environmental Science, Geography, Hydrology, Civil or Environmental Engineering)
  • Chartership with a relevant professional body or a commitment to work towards chartership (e.g., CIWEM, ICE)
