Your missions

We are looking for an Engagement Project Coordinator on a 12 month fixed-term basis who will be responsible for working towards the overall goal of increasing diverse participation to the programme. You will support the community engagement managers in planning, facilitation and executing exciting key pilots in the Northwest and across the organisation. You will be highly organised, passionate and intuitive in anticipating needs and reporting.

Our Future Health will be the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.

Our plan is to bring together 5 million volunteers from right across the UK who will be asked to contribute information to help build one of the most detailed pictures we have ever had of people’s health. Researchers will be able to use this information to make new discoveries about human health and diseases. So future generations can live in good health for longer.

What you’ll be doing

This role will create the opportunity to create new pilots and test new ways of working, whilst gathering community led feedback to implement. We hope to collect some good practice and learning along the way which will benefit underserved communities, you can be a vital part of the growth of the diversity programme. Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for project organisation, timelines, cross team working and facilitating the teams requirements.
  • Creating workflows, visuals and reports.
  • Managing key timelines for each pilot project and integrating essential teams to input and action.
  • Be involved in the management of monitoring, evaluation and risk mitigation for each project.
  • Building and maintaining key relationships outside of the organisation with community organisations, faith-based organisations, academic institutions and charities. You will build and maintain a network of contacts to be built to help input towards our deliverables.
  • Assessing gaps and building smaller key projects that you can own and deliver on.
  • Building opportunity and communication channels that help promote the work of Our Future Health.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will also have some of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in community engagement programmes, with a focus on delivering tangible results.   
  • Understanding of working with under-represented groups.  
  • Experience of working with representatives of different ethnic groups and faith groups.   
  • Have a dynamic, flexible approach, with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.   
  • Be someone who works well in a busy, changing environment with tight deadlines.   
  • Be able to build relationships and work confidently with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels and from all backgrounds.     
  • Have good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex messaging clearly and in a way that is meaningful for different groups of people.   
  • Understanding of population research and cohort studies would be advantageous.
