Position Summary
As a Software Developer in Test, you will work closely with the development leads in Intermedia’s Voice Application team, helping to extend and enhance our products with new features and greater performance. You will design and execute a variety of automated tests (functional, performance, load and stress), and design and modify test frameworks to cover the many aspects of Intermedia’s VoIP-based phone service and XMPP-based chat/presence service prior to deployment on Intermedia’s production network.
Responsibilities
- Analyze product design and requirements specifications, and translate them into a detailed, methodical testing strategy
- Develop functional automation tests based on prepared test cases
- Develop performance, load and stress tests
- Design and improve framework for functional and load tests
- Document, report, and track software defects using Jira
Required Skills
- 3+ year of professional QA experience in a complex software development environment
- Experience with writing automated tests (Python and C)
- Experience working with legacy code
- Base knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Base knowledge of network technology (tcpdump, Wireshark, TCP/IP)
- Experience in testing of server applications
- Hands-on experience testing in Linux
- Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem solving skills
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of Lua
- Telco/VOIP experience
- Familiarity with SIP, XMPP protocols
- Experience with JavaScript and NodeJS
- Experience managing Jenkins / CI Pipelines
