About Noon
Noon's mission is to radically change the way people learn, focusing on the Middle East region where the company has its roots, and where the need and the urgency to improve education is highest. We aspire to run a network of schools taught by a network of top teachers in the region, and to accomplish this we need to build new technology that enables top teachers to effectively teach our students even if they are not physically present at the school. We are a leading ed-tech platform in the Middle East, with over 12 million students and teachers using our app to learn, teach, and collaborate. We have recently raised $41 million in Series B funding to expand our reach and impact in the region and beyond.
We come from diverse backgrounds and work across four timezones. At the same time we recognize that small teams sitting together can move a lot faster than those that work remotely, and hence we're building up our engineering presence in our London office.

What you will do
As a Principal Engineer, you will be part of an elite team of highly talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, all working together to push the boundary of the art of the possible. Working closely with product managers, you will be solving problems that have the potential to change the lives of millions of students and teachers across the globe.
You will team up with fellow engineers and cross-functional partners in product, design, and business to define your goals, and work together to achieve them. Your success will not be measured in terms of the output - numbers of pull requests and lines of code written, but rather, in terms of what those software changes achieve for our students and teachers. As part of the engineering team, you'll work across our entire tech stack. We use React native for app development. Our backend is written in Java, spring boot on top of a Rest API and MySql.
About you
As an individual, you will be self-motivated working autonomously to build parts of the platform and solving problems as you encounter them. We're looking for proactive problem solvers who want to work across our whole tech stack. You could be a seasoned full-stack engineer looking for interesting products to build, or someone looking for new opportunities to learn and grow. You are self-motivated and can work independently. You have good product sense and can create experiences that are not just functional but fun (remember, we're building for teenagers!). You have a growth mindset and desire to learn new things and to help others learn
