Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated Underwriting professional to join our team. This job performs and applies insurance coverage, rules and guidelines to execute the underwriting decision-making process according to Company underwriting philosophy. This job includes training and development through completion of the Company’s underwriter training program for the assigned line of insurance and requires the person to:

Assess the change readiness of affected people and identify key stakeholders.
Create actionable deliverables within communication plans.
Consult and coach project teams.
Enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications.
Support training efforts by providing input, document requirements, and supporting the design and delivery of training for initiatives.
Implement policies established by Senior Management.
Work effectively with associates and customers at all levels.
Travel to branches as requested to perform activities as may be required.
Assist with other duties as assigned within Home Office or elsewhere on request.

Desired Skills & Experience

Several years of experience with significant knowledge relevant to Branch and Home Office Underwriting.
Demonstrates above average problem solving, training and skill building ability.
Bachelor’s degree or several years related experience or training
Actively engaged in Company approved continuing education programs.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms
Demonstrates innovativeness and continually seeks more efficient ways to process and handle work.
