Job description

Product Manager
Location: US-based, Fully Remote

About eSpark Learning

At eSpark Learning, we're on a mission to reimagine education in a student-centered way, making high-quality learning accessible to all students, regardless of background or circumstance. We have the utmost respect for the job that elementary teachers do day in and day out, and we want to be their most valued tool for differentiated instruction and driving engagement in their classrooms. We have over a million students on our platform and paying customers in the form of schools and districts in all 50 states.

We’re using AI to personalize education for every student. We’re not just leveling lessons to a student’s ability; we’re customizing the lesson content itself around the student's background and interests. In the last 12 months we've shipped several new AI-driven features, and we recently shipped our first AI-based Writing Tutor.

Our remote culture is deeply rooted in a collegial, collaborative atmosphere. We prize scrappiness, resourcefulness, and a genuine passion for our mission. We fancy ourselves David amidst a sea of Goliaths, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. If you're looking to make a substantial impact in the world of educational technology, we'd love to welcome you aboard.

The Role

As a Product Manager, you’ll join our R&D organization, spanning product, design, engineering, and data science, reporting to the VP Product. You’ll take part in all aspects of product at eSpark — from discovery to delivery to process improvements — conceptualizing, launching, and iterating on our core product for elementary school teachers and administrators.

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead our Teachers & Administrators Pod with dedicated engineering, design, and data resources. In this role, you will build deep empathy for teachers and administrators and understand how eSpark delivers value to them. We have a Product-led Growth motion that is paired with a hungry sales team to drive revenue. You will formulate hypotheses and test new experiences across the customer journey from teachers using eSpark in their classroom, sharing that success with their administrators, and finally driving the admins to purchase eSpark.

This role will play a critical part in adapting our Product-led Growth motion to ultimately drive administrators to purchase, renew, and expand eSpark. This product team will work especially closely with our sales, customer experience, and customer success teams that are working on new business sales, renewals, and expansions to grow the business.

As the Product Manager of Teachers & Administrators Pod you will:

  • Lead your cross-functional pod to ship valuable work and foster a culture of impact and high performance
  • Partner with marketing and sales teammates to identify high-impact product opportunities within the teacher and administrator customer journeys
  • Work closely with senior leaders across eSpark to make sure that pod’s roadmap is aligned to the company's short- and long-term goals
  • Use a range of insights and techniques to test your hypotheses and deeply understand our users
  • Inform product decisions with quantitative and qualitative data on user behavior and experimentation (e.g. a/b testing, survey data, usability studies)
  • Define metrics for identifying success while ensuring the team is clear on their goals
  • Stay on top of eSpark’s strategic and competitive position in the market, filtering this down to your team

Requirements
  • Product Management Experience in B2B domain. 3+ years working on a software product as a product manager with a B2B or B2C2B motion, preferably with a product-led go-to-market strategy
  • Modern product thinker. Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgment to assess risks, and being creative and innovative to find valuable solutions.
  • GTM Collaborator & Excellent Communicator. In addition to the collaboration skills essential to leading your pod at a high level, you have experience working with sales and customer success teams and go-to-market strategies to drive revenue outcomes

Why eSpark?

Joining eSpark means being part of a team that values innovation, education, and the power of technology to transform learning experiences. We offer the chance to make a significant, direct impact on the way education is delivered and experienced, all while working in a supportive, flexible environment that prioritizes your growth and well-being. Compensation for this position will include stock options that will allow you to benefit from your impact on the company’s growth.

In addition to a competitive salary and stock options, eSpark offers full healthcare coverage (including vision, dental, and mental health benefits), generous vacation and parental leave policies. We are a fully-distributed company and provide benefits around supporting remote work, including your choice of technical equipment. We believe in work-life balance and respect nights and weekends.

At eSpark, we believe all people—adults and students alike—deserve respect for who they are. We work hard to make eSpark an environment in which everyone can thrive and succeed. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics.
