POSITION SUMMARY: 

Clearway Health is a high-growth, for-profit subsidiary of Boston Medical Center (BMC) Health System. The company partners with hospitals and health systems to build or strengthen their own specialty pharmacy programs, improve access to care and provide personalized support to vulnerable patients, families, providers and care managers to eliminate barriers and ensure medications are received on time.

The Senior Director, Strategy - Chief of Staff, is a key partner to the President, responsible for managing corporate strategic planning and execution processes to ensure alignment with Clearway Health goals. This individual will contribute to the attainment of the organization’s projected growth and overarching objectives by providing strategic guidance to leadership surrounding industry dynamics, corporate strategy and a portfolio of organizational, strategic, operational and administrative activities. Reporting to the President, this seasoned advisor will serve as an integral member of the team; the ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in areas of healthcare, strategy and operations, as well as a track record of building and maintaining positive internal and external working relationships 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:  

  • Provide advisory, operational and analytic support to the President; staying apprised of the work across Clearway Health with key stakeholder and ensuring departmental involvement, when needed   

  • Work with the President and other key stakeholders, providing day-to-day oversight of a portfolio of organizational, strategic, operational and administrative activities    

  • Drive administrative, operational, reporting and quality improvements through partnerships with internal teams  

  • Develop, monitor, executive dashboards and department specific technology performance dashboards  

  • Lead departments in developing OKRs, goals, key measures, processes and owners for overall performance  

  • Manage annual strategic planning process  

  • Support President, generating presentations and communications 

  • Ensure System leaders have visibility into progress against organizational outcomes and financial targets.   

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting key deadlines and deliverables; identify issues and develop actions and solutions.  

  • Prepare materials for the board of trustees.  

  • Support the development of plans for improvement where needed, creating accountability structures to ensure stakeholders manage toward successful implementation.  

 

EDUCATION: 

M.B.A. or other advanced degree required 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

EXPERIENCE: 

7+ years’ experience working in senior leadership in a top consulting or high-growth start-up environment, partnering with senior leaders on strategy, organizational alignment and, conducting financial analysis and decision support.   

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Ability to influence and persuade, displaying executive presence  

  • Driven and collaborative strategic thinker with the ability to quickly understand, assimilate, and critically interpret information and evolving industry data  

  • Proven capability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced multifunctional team environment; well-organized and operationally effective in developing and executing program strategies with a flexible and solution-driven attitude  

  • Ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously and prioritize to meet key deadlines   

  • Expert quantitative analysis and critical reasoning skills; ability to quickly break down complex problems and support findings with data  

  • Track record of successfully building strong working relationships across a wide spectrum of internal and external partners  

  • Strong negotiation skills; awareness of when to elevate issues to senior leadership when intervention is necessary  

  • Ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and prioritize to meet key deadlines without frequent, formal check-ins  

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to distill complex analysis and recommendations into succinct, persuasive executive presentations. 

  • Maintains the highest level of integrity and respect for patients, members, and colleagues  

  • Strong financial planning and business plan development skills.
