Open Telemetry Consultant

We need a hands-on architect who has done OpenTel implementation i.e. written OpenTel code in any language (Jave, Node.js, Ruby etc.) and integrated it with one of the monitoring tools such as Dynatrace. 

What you will do:

Provide meaningful dashboards illustrating KPIs and other important metrics for critical services. Provide team direction based on predictive analytics. Influence policy changes and establish key relationships with senior technical leaders and management. Plan and lead architectural initiatives for frameworks. 

What You'll Need:

• Expertise with various consumer and enterprise operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android) operating at scale.
• Ability to lead root-cause analysis for incidents, champion incident response practices and assist in correlating recurring incidents to systemic problems, and drive towards resolution.
• Experience with modern monitoring and telemetry stacks (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
• Experience utilizing source-code repositories backed by git (Bitbucket, Gitlab, etc.)
• Ability to understand scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms. (common languages used: Python, Go)
• Ability to document processes/procedures.
• Ability to perform code-review for quality and adherence to company style guides.
• Automate and maintain infrastructure to meet reliability and scalability demands.
• Maintain infrastructure in public cloud environments as well as within data centers
• Develop, maintain and enhance monitoring and telemetry infrastructure.
• Brainstorm, define, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams.
• Constantly re-evaluate client environments to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance and stability.
• Be an energetic ‘self-starter’ with the ability to take ownership and be accountable for deliverables.

Key Qualifications:

• • 5+ years of experience working in a large-scale production environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team.
  • Experience with implementing Open Telemetry instrumentation and data collectors.
  • Knowledge of one or more monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Lightstep, AppDynamics and integration with Open Telemetry.

• Good hands-on experience with one or more programming languages such as PHP, Python, Ruby, Javascript, Node.js

• Knowledge of AWS is a plus.
