Under the direction of the Dean of the School of Education, this position is responsible for providing supervision to teacher candidates in person. Our primary need is for candidates within the state of Kentucky, but others are welcome to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the School of Education to monitor, assess, and provide feedback to teacher candidates.
  • Provide regular mentoring plans, timesheets, and additional feedback as required for teacher candidates.
  • Maintain regular communication with teacher candidates through virtual office hours and e-mail.
  • Maintain clear, consistent records to the School of Education.
  • Participate in all required training.
  • Respond to teacher candidate questions.
  • Follow university policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A current and valid teaching license.       
  • Master’s degree in an Education related field.
  • Travel to schools to observe teacher candidates.
  • Student-focused supervision that addresses the needs of all learners, both traditional and nontraditional.
  • Ongoing professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and interest in all related educational standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in an Education related field.
  • Experience in teacher supervision, mentoring, and leadership
