Compensation

$68,536.00 - $123,884.80

(Based on Experience)

Summary

Responsible for assisting the Planning Services area with the development, implementation, and management of the GLWA enterprise-wide asset management. Focused on supporting the inspection and management of GLWA’s water and wastewater horizontal infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

· Support GLWA’s Linear System Integrity Program (LSIP).

· Develop or review condition assessment plans for the inspection of water and wastewater pipelines.

· Review permit applications and plans for EGLE, MDOT and local municipalities.

· Review engineering plans for pipeline modifications and pipeline renewals.

· Perform field work during condition assessments and pipeline repairs/renewals.

· Coordinate with contractors, consultants, public, and stakeholders in the field.

· Enter data into GLWA’s computerized maintenance management system.

· Stay current with industry trends by participating in educational opportunities and professional/community organizations.

· Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties.

· Prepare and present status reports to management as needed.

· Respond to all requests for project information.

· Coordinate meetings and tasks with other units across the organization.

· Participate in the implementation and use of asset management and work management software programs, including serving as a power user and or trainer for key Asset Management related software.

· Perform related work duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in a related operational area

· Three (3) or more years of experience in a specialty designation area preferably in a municipal or public utility setting

Preferred Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Applied Science or the equivalent experience in operation, maintenance and repair of a municipal water and/or wastewater system

· Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Knowledge of municipal permitting, ordinances, and requirements

· Knowledge of GIS

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
•    Valid Michigan Driver’s License
•    May be required to provide own vehicle for transportation on a reimbursed mileage basis
•    Ability to work irregular hours, commute to GLWA facilities and work sites

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to computer screens, working in team offices, and closely with all staffing levels.
