Our Opportunity:

Purdue Global offers term by term, non-tenured, part-time teaching appointments to qualified individuals who are dedicated to providing quality educational experiences to students in Associates, Bachelors and Masters degree programs. These remote positions in the Graduate Nursing AGACNP MSN Program, offer an excellent opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty contribute to and engage in instructional best practice for adult learners in an innovative, nontraditional university setting.

What to Expect in this Role:

• Providing a student-centered learning environment which enables students to attain success (classroom facilitation). Maintains program and course outcomes at a level to ensure appropriate workplace skill levels for graduates. Provides meaningful and substantive instruction throughout the course. 
• Teaching synchronous or asynchronous seminars as assigned by school or program.
• Posting course announcements in class and responding promptly to student messages in the virtual office.
• Ensuring timely management and response to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other school officials.
• Leading message board discussions and engaging students in relevant discussion and coursework.
• Reports concerns regarding student academic progress to Success Coaches or Academic Advisors, as appropriate. Refers students with questions regarding financial aid, academics, attendance, and personal issues or concerns to the appropriate departments. 
• Maintaining and submitting accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.
• Delivering mid-term and final grades to the Registrar's Office according to the academic calendar.
• Enforcing student conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog.
• Attending department and faculty meetings.
• Additional duties as may be assigned by the School.

Experience:

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution required. Doctoral degrees (PhD, DNP, EdD) are preferred.
• Active unencumbered RN license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license required.
• National Board Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) required. Dual certified AGACNP with FNP, PMHNP, PNP, WHNP, ENP or AGPCNP is a plus.
• Two or more years of related experience and/or training preferred (online teaching experience a plus). 
• Exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and virtual meeting platforms. Experience with Brightspace software is preferred. 
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.

• FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime) 
• Adjunct compensation varies per course based on student enrollment, program type and also includes a contribution to a retirement account. A typical adjunct in the School of Nursing can expect to receive $3300 per full 10-week course. Retirement account benefits include an automatic 403(b) company contribution of 3% and a company match up to an additional 4% with participation in an optional 457(b) plan.
