As a global-leading health and well-being provider – encompassing physical, mental and financial health – TELUS Health is improving health outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers and employees.

Interested in being a strategic Global Rewards Manager?

Join our team!

The compensation team is passionate about bringing thought leadership, innovation and expertise to the design and delivery of compensation programs within the total rewards offerings. We look to inspire an exceptional team member experience which differentiates TELUS from our competitors.

Here’s what we believe:

  • We are ONE team - there’s no room for egos or blame

  • Everything we do is tied to the business

  • We challenge the status quo - and when others think we’re done, we make it better

  • We live up to our commitments - to ourselves, our friends, family, peers, leaders and our customers

  • Our success is all about how we do things - how we think, solve problems, deliver, communicate, and more

What you bring

As Global Reward Manager, you will bring your thought leadership and in-depth knowledge of compensation trends and practices to support the management of global cycles, processes and projects to an international technology organisation with Canadian headquarters and operations across the globe (100k+ team members across the Americas, EMEA and APAC).

You will provide professional understanding of compensation, total rewards, and human resources and use your knowledge to reinforce the design, education and implementation of compensation initiatives that support the constantly changing needs of our business landscape.

With your strategic mindset, innovative approach and pragmatism, you will support the effective design and delivery of global programs including: job architecture, job evaluation, salary structures, pay legislation compliance, market benchmarking, annual review cycle, short-term and long-term incentive plan design and M&A integrations. You thrive on challenging the status quo, are comfortable presenting recommendations to senior leadership, and can adapt your approach across regions. You take pride in your expertise in stakeholder management and delivering thoughtful insights derived from complex data.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together!

As a member of the Compensation COE team within People & Culture (P&C), you will research, analyse, and advise on compensation programs and initiatives across the globe. You will partner with other COE teams such as Pension & Benefits, DEI, and M&A as you seek to solve a diverse set of challenges with a data driven approach. With offices near Liverpool street, you will have the option of working from the office on an occasional basis, while mainly working remotely from the location of your choice.

The People & Culture team and senior leaders in the organisation depend on the Compensation COE team to provide expertise on internal and external market trends and compensation legislation, and we help empower leaders to effectively attract and retain new team members in alignment with the TELUS compensation strategy.

Here’s how

  • Contribute to the development of compensation strategy, design, and implementation of programs with a focus on the UK, US, Australia, and Europe (in addition to other countries such as China, Mexico, Columbia, India, Chile and South Africa)

  • Provide guidance and expertise on job architecture to make sound recommendations for maintaining an effective job level structure, job family framework and job titling strategy, relying on your knowledge of compensation and organisational design

  • Conduct market research and analysis to ensure compliance with local pay legislation (pay equity, pay equality, pay transparency, and pay reporting requirements) across global operations

  • Support the integration of acquisitions by conducting analysis of total rewards implications, job mapping, compensation and benefits harmonisation and alignment with total rewards strategy, in collaboration with the M&A and PAI (post acquisition integrations) teams

  • Deliver the annual reward cycle globally, focusing on annual compensation review of base salary, performance bonus awards and long-term incentives

  • Demonstrate insight and offer solutions by conducting compensation modelling, benchmarking and analysis to drive locally competitive total reward offerings across all regions

  • Align compensation approaches with business needs by providing recommendations and solutions to drive effective talent attraction, development and retention

  • Lead on enterprise-wide global projects through various stages from initial assessment with the business through to change management and implementation

  • Prepare concise and polished presentations and analyses for senior leadership audiences; outlining recommendations, trends and cost impacts

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience within Total Rewards or HR generalist positions, with a strong understanding of compensation practices and pay legislation

  • Familiarity with job evaluation methodologies and annual market survey participation

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English

  • Senior-level stakeholder management skills and confidence presenting to senior management

  • Problem-solving mindset with demonstrated ability to define a problem, conduct thorough analysis and build clear recommendations

  • Highly adaptable and comfortable working with autonomy and ambiguity amidst a constantly changing business landscape and significant inorganic growth

  • Experienced collaborator with a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships in a remote role

  • Analytical capabilities with proficiency to decipher complex data sets in order to deliver recommendations and insights

  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones, work asynchronously and collaborate with HQ in Canada (key stakeholders in Vancouver and Toronto)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Success Factors and Google Suite (familiarity with Workday is beneficial)

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Mathematics, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience and education)

  • Hold or working towards your CIPD qualification

  • Master’s degree and/or compensation qualifications considered an asset
