 What you will be doing:

Strategic

The successful candidate will be experienced in the governance, identification, management and reporting of scenario testing within a GSIB or a FMI, with a focus on extreme but plausible scenarios, while at the same time hold experience as a member of crisis management and crisis response teams.

The candidate will partner and collaborate across the firm to grow the maturity of the existing scenario testing programme to enable CLS to continue to assess risk and associated mitigation strategies along with being responsible for the end to end processes for scenario testing.

Along side this key responsibility, the candidate will be required to partner with the existing crisis management function to training is provided for the knowledge and information gained through the identification and execution of scenarios along with providing support to the crisis teams in real world invocations and their own exercises.

  • Scenario Testing
    • Be responsible for the scenario testing practices within Operational Resilience
    • Manage the identification, planning, execution, lessons learned, risk management and reporting of scenario testing across risk appetite and extreme but plausible scenarios.
    • Manage and maintain CLS’s scenario testing catalogue.
    • Co-ordinate and plan scenario testing across the firm to ensure alignment and efficiencies across testing within other areas of the business (e.g. Cyber, Risk and Crisis).
  • Crisis Management
    • Provide training to the Crisis Management function in support of their own testing and exercises as well as the outcomes of Operational Resilience scenario testing.
    • Support the incident management and Crisis Management functions with SME levels of support in the event that an incident or crisis event occurs.

Operational

As a member of the Operational Resilience team, the candidate will be continually engaged with the day to day operations of CLS Important Business Services, monitoring and understanding service performance and seeking to learn lessons from any issues or incidents to feed into the overall Resilience framework and plan.

  • Participation at a working group level of change programs which may materially alter the resilience posture of the organization, influencing these to ensure risk is either mitigated or improvements made.
  • Establish new and participate in existing forums to ensure the resilience health of the delivery of CLS’s products and services is clear, enabling strategic decision making for investment and risk management.

What we’re looking for:

As a systemically important financial market utility, the operational resilience posture of CLS is inextricably tied to the wellbeing of the global financial infrastructure. While CLS enjoys a strong and demonstrable history of resilience of its platforms and operating environments, the ability for CLS to prevent, respond to and recover from failure scenarios requires a combination of on-going testing and strength in depth in its Crisis Management capabilities.

CLS therefore has a requirement for a role to with the Operational Resilience team to lead its scenario testing programme and to provide training and support to its existing Crisis Management function.

The candidate shall have the following experience:

  • A history of leading scenario testing practices within an FMI or GSIB
  • Experience and exposure to Crisis Management disciplines within an FMI or GSIB
  • Good understanding of FX products and services with knowledge of the required infrastructure and dependencies.
  • Experience across technology, third party, facilities and people risk analysis and mitigation.

Professional qualifications / certifications

Recognized qualifications in the following areas will be beneficial:

  • Operational Resilience
  • Business Analysis
  • Project Management (e.g Prince / PMI / APM)
  • Cyber Management (e.g. CISM)
