Job Description:
FirstPrinciples is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of FP Studio to spearhead the establishment of our cutting-edge CGI content creation division. The Director of FP Studio will play a pivotal role in bringing complex scientific concepts to life through captivating visual storytelling, leveraging the power of CGI to engage, educate, and inspire audiences worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Studio Launch and Strategy:

  • Lead the strategic planning and launch of FP Studio, including defining the studio's mission, goals, and creative direction.
  • Develop a comprehensive studio strategy that aligns with FirstPrinciples' mission and audience engagement objectives.

Content Development:

  • Collaborate with scientific experts, researchers, and content creators to translate complex theoretical physics concepts into compelling CGI content.
  • Oversee the end-to-end content creation process, from concept development and scripting to CGI production and post-production.

Team Building and Management:

  • Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing team of CGI specialists, animators, scriptwriters, and producers.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that nurtures creativity and excellence.

Technology and Tools:

  • Identify and implement state-of-the-art CGI technologies, software, and tools to enhance content quality and production efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CGI technology.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the highest quality standards for CGI content, maintaining accuracy in scientific representation while delivering engaging visuals.
  • Establish rigorous quality control processes and workflows.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the studio's budget, optimizing resource allocation for content creation, equipment, and technology investments.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure financial efficiency.

Collaboration and Partnerships:

  • Forge collaborations with scientists, educators, and institutions to co-create scientifically accurate and compelling CGI content.
  • Explore partnerships with educational platforms, media outlets, and scientific organizations for content distribution.

Audience Engagement:

  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager to devise audience engagement strategies and maximize the reach of CGI content.
  • Analyze audience feedback and engagement metrics to refine content strategies.

Compliance and Rights Management:

  • Ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property regulations for content creation and usage.
  • Manage licensing agreements and rights for CGI assets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in CGI, animation, film production, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership and project management in CGI content creation.
  • Strong creative vision and a passion for making complex scientific concepts accessible through visual storytelling.
  • Proficiency in CGI software, animation tools, and post-production techniques.
  • Excellent team-building and management skills.
  • Familiarity with theoretical physics concepts is a plus.
