Position Available: Staff / Senior Forensic Accountant
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Staff / Senior Forensic Accountant to join our collaborative team at the St. Louis office. This role offers the opportunity for career advancement and involvement in all aspects of our operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, solid analytical and organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive both independently and within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial documentation, including general ledgers, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, payroll registers, and bank statements.
- Work independently to identify supportable solutions to complex problems.
- Maintain frequent communication with team members to provide progress updates and address potential issues or complications through constructive feedback.
- Conduct industry and accounting standards research relevant to ongoing cases.
- Review case file documents while remaining alert to financial circumstances, red flags, and other pertinent factors.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to translate source data into unique financial evidence for each case.
- Identify trends and anomalies in financial data.
- Prepare preliminary analysis and reports pertinent to each engagement.
- Undertake special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Licensed CPA or completion of all requirements to sit for the CPA exam.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in audit or financial analysis.
- Experience in forensic accounting or litigation support is advantageous.
- Ability to multitask across various assignments and prioritize tasks based on client needs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Adaptive communication style to effectively engage with individuals from diverse financial backgrounds.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
