As the SaaS product manager executive, you will act as the general manager of EIS's SaaS solution, leading the process to identify and prioritize optimal whole-product and services capabilities to best address the needs and expectations of insurers seeking the benefits of a SaaS solution to manage their core insurance business - from ease of adoption to robust, always available operations and world-class support. You'll be responsible for guiding the evolution of our SaaS Product with a capital "P": combinations of features, services, positioning, packaging, and pricing that are market-leading, delight our customers, and achieve EIS business objectives.
You will bring customer, market and industry perspectives to EIS, evolving the SaaS product strategy, SaaS roadmap, and feature-level SaaS platform and services requirements to support the company strategy. You will lead a small team of SaaS product managers and business analysts, working with product, engineering and operations teams across EIS to execute the SaaS roadmap; ensuring we deliver a capable, scalable, robust and cost effective platform and operational environments for our customers. You will work closely with peer product leaders who are developing core insurance software modules such as policy, claims and billing administration to ensure these enable a market-leading SaaS experience - influencing architecture and application designs to enable effective SaaS implementations. Further, you will also play a critical role in evolving the SaaS product positioning and messaging platform used by marketing and sales to support a successful go-to-market strategy.
Your responsibility will span from strategic to tactical and from business to technical. As such, this role is an ideal position for a seasoned product manager with a combined business and technical background. You will work with cross-functional leadership to evolve our SaaS product strategy, interact with prospects and customers, to support implementation teams, and collaborate with development teams on technical platform features.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Conduct market and competitor research to develop key insights to guide product decisions
- Understand customer, partner and internal needs and personas of our SaaS solution
- Lead the definition of the EIS SaaS offering: software, services, tooling, support, service levels, messaging, pricing, packaging and options to meet the business objectives of EIS.
- Build and present the business case for investment in SaaS capabilities
- Socialize and solicit feedback on product strategy with internal stakeholders to gain buy-in, alignment, and clarity regarding product objectives and goals.
- Build and execute SaaS roadmap that commits to measurable business outcomes (e.g. revenue, growth, customer satisfaction)
- Understand SaaS pricing factors and be able to create effective pricing models for standard and bespoke pricing of SaaS services
- Drive continuous innovation and evolution of SaaS features
Solution Development
- Collaborate with peer product management leaders responsible for core insurance software applications (policy, claims, billing, etc.) to align product roadmaps and include SaaS specific requirements and alignment of delivery plans.
- Manage backlog supporting the SaaS roadmap with effective prioritization and sequencing
- Set and continuously manage proper expectations with all relevant stakeholders regarding scope and deliverables
- Create requirements documents in collaboration with other subject matter experts and analysts for SaaS specific features and non-functional requirements
- Lead and manage teams in matrixed working environments
Marketing & Sales
- Collaborate with marketing to generate ideas, create content and collateral, conduct product marketing activities
- Work with marketing and sales to develop and execute a go-to-market strategy
- Enable sales and channel partners with collateral, training and RFx response support
- Represent EIS SaaS; impress as a professional - represent the company as a confident, knowledgeable, understanding and competent individual with a customer centric approach and deliver credible and accurate presentations or product demonstrations
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Superior candidates will have a strong combination of the following skills and experiences, and the ability and willingness to rapidly learn skills needed in areas where they have gaps:
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience overall
- Significant professional experience in SaaS product management, with deep knowledge of capabilities and considerations required for a successful SaaS offering - both technical & business.
- SaaS operational or IT operational experience is a strong plus (basic fluency in service management processes, SLAs, DR, tooling, CI/CD methodologies, security operations standards, IaaS platforms, and related topics), as these relate to key capabilities of a SaaS platform.
- Experience leading product management or technology development teams.
- Strong strategic thinker and leader, who is proactive and takes initiative
- Excellent influencing, organizational, facilitation, communication and presentation skills
- Strength of convictions and ability to influence and champion product changes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to interact professionally with both technical and non-technical professionals at all levels of an organization;
- Agile experience & applied knowledge of software development methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to define user journeys, use cases and user stories
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with remote teams
This role may have up to 10% travel.
Compensation
The targeted pay range for this position is $225,000 - 265,000 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to your salary, you will also receive stock options as part of our offer, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
