Summary Of Role & Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our growing Transactions & Sustainable Finance team to support the execution and evolution of our ESG and climate-related services to financial sector clients. In this role you will bring technical expertise in applying relevant frameworks, standards, and guidance for asset owners and managers across a range of asset classes. The successful applicant will not only have experience with the private markets industry, but also bring fluency across ESG topics, standards, and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Your tasks within the team will be varied and, depending on your level of experience, may include:

  • Supporting and/or managing the delivery of projects that help:
    • Assess ESG risks and opportunities of potential investments (due diligence)
    • Clients engage portfolio companies to address ESG risks and opportunities during ownership
    • Support clients to leverage ESG to increase returns at exit
    • Set science based and net zero targets for financial institutions;
    • Support clients in developing strategies for decarbonization actions across their portfolio.
    • Help clients assess and manage climate risk
  • Supporting leadership in evolving our services to support financial sector clients with their ESG strategies.
  • Delivering tasks on time and within budget, either as, or in support of, the project manager / project lead to ensure that projects meet or exceed targets and deadlines.
  • Collaborating with global Anthesis sustainability experts and technical consultants to deliver great project outcomes.
  • Staying informed of the ever-changing regulatory landscape and providing technical consulting advice on such changes for clients and internal teams. Developing and strengthening new and existing client relationships and networks.
  • Actively engaging in business development, networking, identifying opportunities, writing proposals, and closing deals.
Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Our ideal candidate will be someone who wants to contribute to, and flourish in a team working at the leading edge of ESG and climate.
  • A degree/relevant qualification in a related field (finance, sustainability, sustainable business, etc.), or equivalent practical experience reflective of the role being applied for.
  • 5+ years' professional work experience.
  • A passion for sustainability and an interest in being at the forefront of sustainability and sustainable finance.
  • Prior experience supporting the corporate or finance-focused climate efforts.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills (organized, methodical and analytical).
  • Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to the dynamic, fast moving ESG space.
  • Ability to work individually and collaboratively within teams on a global basis.
  • Proactivity, initiative, and an interest in working on a range of different project types and client sectors.
