Job Title: Senior Test Automation Engineer

Location: UK Wide (Flexible/Remote)

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for people who let curiosity and interest lead them. We don't expect to have a team of "experts". What we do expect is our Senior Quality Engineers to be inquisitive, challenge and take initiative. We're looking for people who have taken the time to invest in building a well-rounded skillset so they can proudly wear the hat of a 'Full-Stack' Tester. You’ll have an appreciation for the entire testing lifecycle from: exploratory testing, automation, functional and non-functional testing. Our projects and clients are diverse, so whilst depth and specialism in key areas is essential, we look for people who have a hunger to develop and expand their skillset.

 

You’ll need to be...

  • Experienced across the full testing lifecycle from unit testing to user acceptance testing across a multiple product/service environment.
  • A lover of code! It plays a huge part in your day to day working. We're looking specifically for strong Java or Python coding skills.
  • An advocate for Automation, not just writing automation scripts but building frameworks from scratch with a combination of tools including Selenium and Webdriver IO, Playwright or Cypress.
  • Knowledgeable of  cloud based environments and have commercial experience working in them, specifically with AWS (ideally AWS CLI).
  • Experienced working in data-driven environments, utilising advanced SQL skills as well as working with data structures, algorithms and systems architecture.
  • A collaborative communicator – presenting confidently to key internal and external stakeholders is essential.
  • Interested in coaching and mentoring other team members and have previous experience doing this.
  • Experienced working in Agile environment and highly familiar with Agile methodologies.

 

Your day job will look like...

  • Every day could be different, depending on the clients you support at 2i, but you’ll mostly be...
  • Reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to create and improve test plans and test cases.
  • Designing, developing and executing automation scripts.
  • Identifying, recording, documenting, and tracking bugs during the software development lifecycle, providing thorough regression testing when resolved.
  • Developing and applying testing processes for new and existing products.
  • Guiding your own learning to keep knowledge on tools and strategies up to date and relevant.
  • Influencing the direction of the automation effort, and its scheduling and prioritisation.
  • Leading and supporting more junior members of stuff on engineering projects.
  • Presenting the output of both internal and external projects to senior stakeholders.
  • Contributing to internal engineering projects.
