The Sr. Product Manager plays a crucial role in driving the business side of product development, optimizing operations, and ensuring product success and differentiation of ISACA’s globally recognized CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) framework. The role will report to the Director of Enterprise Products. 

 

This position encompasses the entire CMMI product lifecycle, with a primary focus on the go-to-market (GTM) delivery with market research required to understand CMMI framework trends and customer needs. The role will operate heavily at the front of the funnel contributing to lead generation. The Sr. Product Manager executes GTM strategies in alignment with business objectives, working closely with the Product Marketing team on digital and performance-based initiatives to boost demand. It will collaborate with Advocacy and Sales teams to broaden product reach and impact. 

 

The role will be closely aligned and working with the CMMI program team including the CMMI Models and Framework team, Training, and others. The role will develop and prioritize requirements, understand high-level design and technical architecture, and utilize CMMI best practices. The Sr. Product Manager will analyze systems and related data to assess how changes impact the program and business operations. 

 

Strong skills in stakeholder management, program management, and communication are essential for setting realistic expectations and achieving strategic goals. Experience with generating and interpreting data, and the ability to influence through visual data presentation towards achieving annual CMMI performance metrics and KPIs is crucial. The role requires a detailed understanding of the CMMI ecosystem, partners, customers (end-users), and processes.  

 

Possessing technical aptitude and familiarity with various applications and product development methodologies is highly desired. ISACA’s industry and CMMI framework familiarity are highly desired.

Responsibilities:
  • Go-to-Market (GTM) execution: Implementing go-to-market plans and activities for CMMI as per the defined strategy with product marketing contribution. Managing product launches, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely delivery of GTM initiatives.
  • Digital and performance-based marketing implementation: Collaborating with the marketing team to successfully execute digital marketing campaigns and performance-based strategies for CMMI. This role requires a level of expertise in online marketing, including SEO/SEM, PPC, email, social media, webinars, and marketing content development. Proficiency in digital marketing analytics and optimization techniques is essential to drive product demand and engagement.
  • Stakeholder management and communication: Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including ISACA partners, key customers, and cross-functional teams, including public-facing teams such as sales and customer support. Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential to align interests and ensure smooth execution of product plans.
  • Advocacy and sales support: Assisting advocacy and sales teams to expand CMMI product reach and impact. This involves creating compelling product value propositions, supporting sales efforts in a variety of ways including partner/end client conversations, creation of the necessary GTM materials, and participation in industry events (webinars and conferences) to promote the product.
  • Product lifecycle and process management: Overseeing the execution of the CMMI product and process lifecycle activities from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization. This includes coordinating with product owners, development teams, and other CMMI program stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring continuous improvement based on customer feedback and market changes and identifying and documenting all product management processes, including decision-making criteria, coordination and issue resolution approach, etc. Periodic support and input to the ongoing strategic development of the programs, including budget and resourcing.
  • Data-driven execution: Utilizing data and analytics to support the execution of product strategies. This includes tracking CMMI KPIs, monitoring the framework’s usability, value, and feasibility, overall performance, and making data-informed decisions and course adjustments to meet business objectives and market demands. Effectively reporting and cross-functionally sharing metrics for own area.
  • Other Duties:
    • Handle Tier 3 customer support requests in the helpdesk when escalated by Customer Success Specialist. 
    • Continuously increase personal domain expertise and knowledge. 
    • Assist with other tasks as required. 
    • Participate in the ongoing development of a positive work culture based on the values of ISACA. 
Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

  • 3+ years in digital product management 
  • 3+ years in digital marketing 
  • 3+ years in partner and stakeholder management 
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, marketing, business or related field.

 

Required skills:

  • Strong analytical and planning skills. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including detailed document preparation and review.  
  • Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks under pressure of simultaneous deadlines. 
  • Ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders of all levels. 
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, and ability to learn technology systems with relative ease. 
  • Strong detail orientation. 

 

Certification and Licensing requirements: 

  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) 
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) 
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) 
    • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) 
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) 
    • CMMI Associate or CMMI Lead Appraiser certification. 
  • Willingness to attain CMMI Professional certification within 9-12 months of starting the role; Attend and pass CMMI Lead Appraiser Training and CMMI Instructor courses 

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5+ years in business side of product management and business development 
  • MBA, MSIT, or masters degree in a related field. 
  • CMMI, Six Sigma, Lean or similar process and quality improvement certifications 
  • Communication of complex ideas for ease of understanding  
  • Writing business cases & building financial models  
  • Organizing complex sets of information  
  • Working with government agencies 
  • International experience
  • Experience with a professional association/volunteer engagement 

 

Domestic and International travel up to 20% required
