Staff Software Engineer - Rust at Recruitment Room

We are a tech startup building an open-source security protocol for securing decentralized applications (DApps) on L2 networks by actively censoring hacks on the underlying network.

We believe that the future of security is through open-source software and tools that enable users to share security practices, what we call open security. We take a different stance than most of our competitors, who build closed-source software.

We believe that security software can be open source, without needing "security through obscurity", by crafting protocols and pieces of software that are of sound design and thoughtfully implemented.

The  team's decision to work on hack prevention came directly from our own experience with a hack. Having experienced its devastating results, we knew that we needed to do something about it.

About the role

We are seeking a Staff-Level Engineer to lead the implementation of the offchain component of a novel hack prevention protocol for EVM chains. The software will be run near Web3 infrastructure and perform low-latency EVM simulations, ensuring that an EVM transaction is valid based on a set of rules with extreme time requirements in the tens of ms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and implementation of the offchain component of our Hack Prevention
• Work with external L2 teams to integrate us with their systems and APIs (e.g., sequencers.)
• Ensure the implementation is performant and secure. It's what we call "critical infrastructure"

About you

• Strong experience in software development with Rust and systems architecture
• Experience in developing high-performance and low-latency systems
• Experience in performance optimizations in relation to databases and networking
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Compensation & Package

• $160K – $230K
