Overview: xScion is seeking a qualified Senior Software Engineer to join our team.  You’ll leverage your AWS, Python scripting, and data pipeline expertise to design, implement, and maintain critical data solutions.  In addition to collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow across the technological ecosystem.

Location: Remote (United States)

As a Senior Software Engineer, You Will:

• Develop and maintain data pipelines between on-prem relational databases and in the AWS cloud.
• Utilize strong scripting skills in Python for automation and data manipulation tasks.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize data and application processes, ensuring they meet SLAs and comply with established procedures
• Participate in the entire lifecycle implementation of large-scale software development projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
• Design dashboards and reports using BI solutions such as Tableau to visualize data trends and patterns.
• Showcase advanced proficiency in core cloud technologies and remain current with evolving trends in data engineering.
• Participate in Agile framework practices, assisting in project planning

To Be Successful, You Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on data engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience scripting Python for automation and data manipulation.
• Highly skilled in AWS tools, including DMS, Glue, Redshift, and cloud databases
• Familiarity with building dashboards and reports using BI solutions such as Tableau
• Proficiency with CI/CD practices and tools like GitLab for version control and deployment
• Hands-on experience with Agile framework environments
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities; adept at working in cross-functional teams.
• US citizenship is required for this position.
