Job Description & Responsibilities:

As a Sales Engineer based in Hawaii, you will be a critical member of the Persistent Systems CONUS and International Sales teams, working closely with the Senior Vice Presidents of Business Development and Managers to solve our customer’s most difficult mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) problems. This critical position will serve as the main POC for our customers in Hawaii as well as the Indo-Pacific region. You will serve as the technical lead and subject-matter expert in the development of MANET architectures in the region and be responsible for all technical aspects of Wave Relay® MANET solutions offered to our international customers and partners. You will also play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to our engineering department, helping to shape future product development with your insight into customer challenges and market needs. 

 

Location: Hawaii – working remotely.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Sales Engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-term issues: provide information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommend options and courses of actions; implement directives
  • Develop long-term customer relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Traveling to customer and business partner locations across the region for programmatic meetings and events
  • Providing reseller strategies to the Persistent Systems’ Business Development and Sales departments
  • Identify largest international markets for Wave Relay® equipment
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Developing and executing strategy for growing the company’s global reseller and partner organization
  • Managing and monitoring reseller and partner relationships including pipelines, programs, and forecasts
  • Providing a single point of contact for all aspects relating to the reseller and partner network
  • Design technical solutions to meet prospect's business, technical, and/or financial goals
  • Support and respond, in an effective and timely manner, on RFI / RFPs with our international resellers and partners
  • Support technical demonstrations, including customer events and tradeshows
  • Partner with the Sales team to develop requirements documents, presentations, proposals, and ROI models, and coordinate with a team of support specialists, consultants, or project managers to execute sales objectives or to ensure that all pre-sales customer requirements are documented and transitioned
  • Maintain expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to develop and present unique solutions, and maintain knowledge of emerging trends in technology and online advertising
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering by providing feedback from information gathered during pre-sales projects
  • Provide guidance and requirements for customers including RF antenna solutions, physical interfaces and custom installation that meet customer requirements
  • Develop customer and internal staff by providing technical information and training
  • Provide post-sales support service and technical backup as required
Job Qualifications & Experience :

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales and/or field sales
  • Strong understanding of network concepts such as IP routing, switching and VPN architectures
  • Strong understanding of the OSI model Layer 1-3
  • Strong background in IP Networking, Video, Land Mobile Radios, RF and/or System Integration
  • Knowledge of International customers and contracting methods
  • Experience in conceptualizing, developing and presenting technical presentations to large groups of customers
  • Must be willing and able to travel 50% of the time 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge and understanding of Hawaii and the Indo-Pacific region
  • At least 5+ years’ Experience in Sales Engineering or consulting
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience

Total compensation for this role can vary from $120,000 to $140,000 a year based on the selected individual's education and experience.
