THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Retail Sales and Operations Manager to join our growing team in France, based in Paris. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a startup environment and is eager to grow with our organization. Initially, the role will involve managing four corners in department stores and overseeing any future store openings. The ideal candidate will be versatile, capable of managing various responsibilities across sales, retail operations, and team management, and driven to build a strong foundation for our retail presence. The role will require travel to Lyon and Lille twice per month.

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Sales Management: Achieve retail sales targets, develop and implement sales strategies, analyze sales data and trends, and support store sales strategies and promotions.
  • Customer Service: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, handle customer complaints, provide excellent customer service, and act as a clienteling ambassador.
  • Inventory & Logistics Management: Monitor and manage stock levels, order new inventory, ensure timely stock deliveries, and replenish shelves.
  • Team & Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise store staff, conduct performance evaluations, hold regular staff meetings, manage staff schedules and holiday requests, and assist in recruiting processes.
  • Operations & Process Improvement: Oversee daily store operations, ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, supervise daily operations, and help maintain store cleanliness.
  • Training & Development: Develop and conduct training programs for staff, identify training needs, support staff professional growth, and assist in training and onboarding new staff.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze performance reports, provide feedback on sales and customer interactions, and prepare detailed operational reports.
  • Visual Merchandising: Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies, design and set up store displays, ensure displays align with brand standards, collaborate with store management to optimize store layout, and train staff on visual merchandising standards.
  • Liaison Responsibilities: Liaise with floor managers, logistics, and the purchasing department of each department store to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance.

  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a multi-role capacity.
  • A degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in inventory management and familiar with logistics coordination.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with sales and performance reporting.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective training programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
