Joint Academy is a healthcare company devoted to science and technology. We have created the world's first digital treatment for osteoarthritis and our vision is to become the global standard treatment for all joint pain.
As the number of patients receiving treatment through our program is constantly growing and we are launching our product to new international markets, we are now recruiting more people who want to be part of our journey and help us to develop and improve our products.
As a back-end developer you will be an important pillar in a small agile team, working in close collaboration with front-end developers, product owners, and design. You will work with improving and developing our APIs and back-end services, architecture, platform and/or new product features.
The main programming languages used in our back-end system today are Ruby and Go, but your general background, attitude and willingness to learn and try new things is more important than experience from specific languages and tools.
Requirements
We think that you have experience developing large-scale web systems, in varying tech stacks, beyond basic CRUD-applications. You should have a good understanding of relational databases and SQL. It is also a big plus if you have experience with DevOps in some form, ideally with Kubernetes.
You must have experience working with either Ruby or Go as we have a legacy monolith written in Ruby that we are transitioning over to a new Go monolith. A good, pragmatic and solution-oriented way of working will help you achieve success in our team!
However, even more important is your mindset and attitude. It’s very important that you:
- enjoy working in a team
- are keen to share knowledge and discuss ideas and problem solving with your colleagues
- are open to give and receive feedback, as code review is an integral part of our development process
- realise that in order to learn, you will also fail sometimes
We are very proud of our product and the fact that it helps thousands of people reduce pain and improve life quality and therefore it’s important that you also value quality and are keen to take ownership in what you deliver. We are constantly challenging ourselves and trying to find ways to improve, and that’s something that we will expect from you too.
In order for us to consider your application, you must hold a valid Swedish work permit.
