Overview
Come join our Product Design team where you will craft and validate designs for our web-mapping application ArcGIS Map Viewer. The Map Viewer allows users to view, explore, and create interactive web maps in ArcGIS Online. It's used to tell stories, answer questions, and solve real world problems. In this role you'll collaborate closely with other designers and product developers to help organizations connect people, locations, and data using interactive maps that drive positive change in the world.
Responsibilities
- Work with developers, product managers, and other cross-functional team members to design end-to-end mapping experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques
- Coordinate with stakeholders to identify requirements and specifications for the development of new and established features
- Develop personas, user journeys, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, visual design and prototypes
- Identify enhancements to product designs by conducting user research (usability testing, surveys, customer interviews, and more) with prototypes and fully developed projects for the Map Viewer
- Work with leadership and stakeholders to suggest and implement improvements for team processes
- Develop and present technical holistic design solutions that address business, brand, and user requirements in the form of wireframes and prototypes
- Be a design leader, ensuring that others understand the value and effectiveness of user-centered design by staying up to date on product design technologies and trends
- Conduct peer reviews, gather usability feedback, and quality assess implementations of your designs and the designs of others
- Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale, and the specifics of user centered design process to developers, engineers, product managers and other cross-functional team members
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with product design for enterprise SaaS, web-based applications, or similar experience
- Experience using Figma, Figma UI Kits, adhering to established pattern libraries and required frameworks
- Knowledge of or experience in localization or internationalization
- Expertise in accessibility (WCAG 2.0/Section 508 Compliance) and a strong track record of collaborating with developers to address and resolve accessibility-related challenges
- Demonstrated self-ownership and initiative in exceeding responsibilities to drive impactful outcomes for the product and team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Embrace a collaborative, data-driven approach with empathy, fostering effective teamwork through a focus on shared goals and mutual respect
- An online portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities, how you think, and a strong understanding of client objectives
- Bachelor's in human factors, HCI, graphic design, or related field

$93,600-$160,160 USD
