Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Director, Business Development to join our team! This is an individual contributor position, newly added due to business expansion. We’re looking for someone who can express passion about our company and mission to enterprise customers across a range of industries within an extensive network. This role consists of engaging prospects and customers about their related initiatives to help them accelerate their investments in decarbonization and drive sales of high-quality carbon credit portfolios.  

This role is responsible for the sales cycle, this includes developing new opportunities, managing pipeline, executing account strategies, and managing customer expansion while being able to leverage various company resources, to reach a successful collaboration and outcome with the prospect. 

 

This is a remote/hybrid position but candidates must be based within one hour of New York City, Los Angeles, or San Francisco

 

Responsibilities

  • Consult with C-level executives to develop and implement an effective, enterprise-wide strategy that maximizes the value delivered by Rubicon Carbon
  • Manage account planning and forecast accuracy
  • Provide Sales leadership with feedback about the market opportunity and identification of new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Refine our understanding of the ideal customer profile to maximize revenue and contribute to the development of the sales process
  • Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities through a combination of inbound, SDR driven, and self-driven leads
  • Grow and maintain in-depth knowledge of the carbon market, climate, and Rubicon Carbon
  • Craft compelling sales materials that drive prospects through each step of the sales process
  • Customize proposal packages and proactively remove blockers to maximize revenue and time to close

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7-10+ years of experience selling complex solutions to Enterprise/ Fortune 500 (carbon market sales experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong belief in a customer centric selling philosophy and applying a consultative approach in customer interactions
  • Background in selling innovation and new concepts to large Enterprises
  • Strong ability to develop a vision match with prospects and customers, to develop alignment across different groups and cultivate champions
  • Good articulation of competitive positioning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Inclusive teamwork skills and a positive attitude
  • A passion around climate change and sustainability 

 

Compensation

The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $1750,000 to $235,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total cash compensation package, annual bons, long-term incentives, and excellent benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team, among other factors.
