The Technical Support Specialist - Automation for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for providing excellent customer service to clients while installing and maintaining diagnostic instrumentation and systems in hospital and stand-alone laboratory environments.

This position is part of the Customer Care Organization located in Milan and will be fully remote. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Technical Support Specialists Team and report to the Technical Support Manager responsible for Customer and Field Service Engineers technical support. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide second level support by resolving customer(s) problems and issues through technical expertise and troubleshooting on Automation systems
  • Support our field team (FSE, FAS) to maintain, install, validate laboratory systems in the field. You advise the team in more relevant and critical technical issues ensuring strong customer satisfaction, retention rate and warranty conversion
  • Utilize critical thinking to resolve appropriate action to rapidly repair instrumentation
  • Ensure the growth of the Field Service Engineers “Technical Know-How” managing the flow of the technical information between the European and BU to the local team
  • Collaborate actively with Sales/Application/Tender Department in order to improve Customer solutions and routine 
  • Verify the operational performance and data quality of systems in order to supply to our overall commercial organization
  • Develop your project management skills in the context of installation projects

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Associate degree (prefer technical, biomedical, robotic, automation or related) or at least some equivalent demonstrated experience with fluent in English and Italian verbal and written enough to attend and provide trainings and participate in discussion forums and international meetings.
  • Willing to work different shifts/flexible hours as business needs and ability to travel and provide service in whole country as well as periodic travel to other European countries and overnight travel.
  • Strong leaderships skills and interpersonal relationship. 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Problem solving and aptitude to proactively identify solutions.
  • Good IT knowledge. Familiar with IT topics: enjoy setting up and managing networks, servers, firewalls, interfaces. 
  • Develop critical mindset supported by DBS tools.
