The Field Marketing Representative is a role designed to enhance the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. This position involves prospecting for new clients, growing and retaining existing clients, and collaborating with underwriting staff to develop, recommend, review, and evaluate marketing strategies. The goal is to accomplish individual and corporate production targets while developing and maintaining the current territory to drive business across various departments.

Essential Job Functions:

Business Development:

  • Develop a pipeline of new business clients using prospecting and networking skills.
  • Introduce production staff to new client opportunities.

Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain high-level service to existing clients by coordinating with underwriting staff.
  • Build, maintain, and evaluate existing and future agency relationships in accordance with the marketing plan.

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute a customer communications strategy.
  • Analyze data to assist in the development and execution of strategic business plans.
  • Create, execute, and review territory marketing plans designed to exceed departmental goals.
  • Prepare and present persuasive sales presentations demonstrating the organization’s unique value proposition.

Product Knowledge:

  • Develop a working knowledge of carriers represented, their capabilities, and market dynamics.
  • Understand the Excess and Surplus Lines Insurance market and the strategic role of wholesalers.

Customer Liaison:

  • Act as a liaison between the customer, the independent insurance agent, and the company.
  • Resolve any outstanding issues in coordination with accounting and underwriting departments.

Travel and Client Visits:

  • Extensive travel in territories including NJ, NY, PA, DE, MD, FL (60% or more time spent out of the office).
  • Attend trade shows and other industry functions to promote the brand and generate new business.
Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1-4 years of increasing responsibility in P&C insurance sales/marketing.
    • Insurance designation, such as CIC or AII, is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong Property & Casualty insurance background.
    • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Solid time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
    • Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems.
    • Proven interpersonal skills to build and maintain partnerships with clients, prospects, and internal teams.
    • Solution-oriented, results-oriented, diplomatic, and creative.

    • Ability to position products optimally in the market.

    • Significant travel for conventions, trade shows, underwriting meetings, and client visits.
    • Ability to conduct large group meetings and handle special projects as needed.
